TED is a global community of people interested in how ideas can improve the world. Every few years, TEDSummit gathers over 1,000 members of that community for five days of performances, workshops, brainstorming, outdoor activities, future-focused discussions and an eclectic program of TED Talks. Attendees at TEDSummit include the most engaged TED friends, TED Fellows, TED-Ed educators, TEDx organizers and more, including more than 150 past TED speakers.
Here’s a chance to co-create an unforgettable gathering of minds and souls determined to play our part. The week will unfold as follows:
Be sure to arrive in Edinburgh in time to raise a toast with your fellow Summiteers before taking in a brilliant opening speaker session. End the night by connecting up with old friends and mingling with new ones at our welcome party.
Day two kicks off with a riveting session of talks by TED Fellows, followed by a vast array of workshops and experiences, both indoors and out. The day wraps up with a speaker session, and a thrilling evening gathering.
Build relationships and sharpen your expertise during a day focused on workshops and experiences, then join a session of mainstage talks. Enjoy endless opportunities to connect with like-minded people during community lunch, dinner and late-night hangouts in beautiful Edinburgh.
Two full sessions of talks, a rich program of workshops and activities, and more opportunities to connect over lunches and breaks. In the evening, meet and mingle at our Grand Party.
The climax of the week's speaker program, Thursday morning’s epic final session will celebrate and sum up the week. Afterward, join a family-style farewell picnic with your fellow TEDsters, old friends and new.
TEDSummit brings together TED community members who contribute to our mission of spreading ideas. If you haven’t received an invitation to attend, and would like to be included, please complete the interest form and we’ll reach out with more information.
TEDSummit 2019 takes place in Edinburgh, Scotland, at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, which has played host to several TEDGlobal events in the past. Its beautiful main theatre, foyer and vast spaces are the central hub of TEDSummit. The conference center boasts enough space and flexibility for surprising exhibits, interactive workshops, networking spaces and more.
Edinburgh is about 380 miles north of London and is the capital city of Scotland. It has a charming old town that is one of the best-preserved European medieval cities. The town's cultural life is vibrant and far-reaching (think of the Edinburgh Festival). The city and its university was one of the major centers of the Enlightenment. James Hutton, the “father of geology,” and poet Walter Scott were born in Edinburgh. Its tradition includes being the home of philosopher David Hume, economist Adam Smith, and Harry Potter author JK Rowling, too, among many others.
