WASHINGTON (Ma'an) -- United States Special Envoy to the Middle East, Jason Greenblatt, said on Saturday the long-delayed and awaited Middle East peace plan, the so-called "Deal of the Century," would not be unveiled at least until June 10th.
During an interview with Fox News, Greenblatt said in a statement, “One thing we won’t do, the Trump administration won’t compromise on Israel’s security.”
Greenblatt mentioned that the reason for the delay until mid-June is for the occasion of the Jewish holiday of Shavuot, also known as Feast of Weeks.
The
main points of the US “Deal of the Century,” were revealed by Israel Hayom news outlet, from a leaked document, which was circulated by the Israeli Foreign Ministry, sparking controversy even prior to its official reveal.
Earlier this week, the Palestinian Foreign Minister, Riyad al-Malki, while speaking at the United Nations,
called the peace plan a Palestinian surrender, noting that all indications are it will be "conditions for surrender."
