Solly Kane
The Midwest was calling him, so Solly Kane left his management consultant gig in New York City and came home. Okay, it was
URJ camp Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute
calling, and they offered him a big job: Serve as the camp's first new director in 48 summers. A Minnesota native who grew up at OSRUI and previously served as assistant director, Solly jumped at the opportunity to ensure life-changing summers for thousands of Jewish campers. This is his first summer in the director role.
Solly previously worked for the Union for Reform Judaism in a political advocacy capacity in Washington, D.C. and later in New York as the director of North American events, helping plan and organize dozens of multi-day conferences including the 5,000-person URJ Biennial. He also earned an MBA from New York University and advised some of the best-known global companies on business strategy while working in consulting.

HOW DO YOU GIVE BACK:
I have the opportunity to be the director of the summer camp where I grew up, so I feel like I get to give back every day by passing on the magic of camp to another generation of campers and staff members. Camp is a place that young people get to build real relationships with each other, unplug from technology and be in the moment, and feel Judaism come alive, and I love getting to make all that happen.
