Rick Baker, a lifelong “monster kid,” won the first competitive Oscar awarded in the Makeup category for his innovative work on An American Werewolf in London Movie (1981), one of several collaborations with director John Landis. Baker’s apprenticeship under one of the industry’s greatest makeup artists, Dick Smith (including working as his assistant on The Exorcist), prepared him for a career providing cutting edge makeup effects in many genres, ranging from comedy to science fiction to horror, with titles including “Ed Wood” (1994), “The Nutty Professor” (1996) and “Men in Black” (1997).
"I never wanted anything more in my life than I wanted to be in The Color Purple, and have never allowed myself to want anything as much again." - Oprah Winfrey, pictured here in her Oscar-nominated role in "The Color Purple" (1985)

Thank you so much for nominating
Now, the Academy's job is... please, please, please... grant him the Best Actor award. Why?
1) The parting scene at the train station is by far, one of the most heart breaking scenes many people have ever seen. Other than I could totally relate to that experience
So much is said without him having to say anything. No need for prosthetic
During the scene when he calls his mum from the station, again, he touched our hearts simply by us listening to his voice. From the crack of his voice, the tone and how he swallows his words.. We don't even have to look at him to feel how much pain his character is in.
2) If there is an actor who can continue to awe us during the credits, it's Timothée..
Do allow those eyes to gaze upon the Oscar statue when he accepts the Best Actor Award, because he totally deserves it!
Thank you The Academy.
