Screen lockers block or limit access to computer or functions asking to send a paid SMS for restoring the computer to its initial state. In this case, even if you send an SMS, access to the computer can remain blocked.
System Watcher from Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 includes a special option of protection against screen lockers. The option allows to close a banner asking to send an SMS to a phone number by clicking a specified key combination. In this case, Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 will detect and delete the screen locker.
By default, the protection against screen lockers is enabled.
To check whether the protection against screen lockers is enabled, perform the following actions:
If access to your computer is blocked by a ransom malware, then press a specified key combination.
If you did not change the default key combination or if the protection against screen lockers is disabled, press the following key combination: CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+F4.
Once the computer is unlocked, start a full scan task.
