After the official release of Service Pack 3 for Microsoft Exchange Servers 2010, problems with starting the transport service began to emerge on hosts with Kaspersky Security 8.0 for Microsoft Exchange Servers installed.
This is due to Microsoft deeply changing the component architecture and versions in its service packs, and Kaspersky Security 8.0 for Microsoft Exchange Servers is incompatible with Service Pack 3 for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010.
In order to ensure proper functioning of Microsoft Exchange Servers 2010 SP3:
If Service Pack 3 is installed on a host with Microsoft Exchange Servers 2010SP2 and Kaspersky Security 8.0 for Microsoft Exchange Servers MP1 CF1, a special patch is needed. To install the patch:
If the files cannot be replaced (all or some of them are locked), stop MS Exchange Transport Service and MS Exchange Store Service. Please note that this will stop the mail traffic for some time, therefore you might choose to do this step after business hours.
Open Exchange Management Shell and enter the following command: Get-TransportAgent | fl (FL – format list). This will display the list of the installed agents. Make sure that both anti-virus and anti-spam agents are listed.
If errors related to Kaspersky Security 8.0 for Microsoft Exchange Servers still occur after all agents have been registered, please generate log files of the KseInfoCollector utility and attach them to the Technical Support Service request.
