The article concerns Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows Service Pack 1 Maintenance Release 2 (build 10.2.4.674) and later.

You can remove Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows:

Locally On a user’s computer:
- Using the Installation Wizard
- Using the command line in the silent or interactive mode
Remotely From the administrator’s computer:
- Using Kaspersky Security Center 10
- Via Active Directory group policies

Removal through the installation wizard

Removal through the command line

You can remove Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows via the command prompt:

In the interactive mode that requires user’s participation.
In the silent mode.

Removal through the command line in the interactive mode

Open the command line.
Run the command:
- For all versions:
  <Path to setup.exe>\setup.exe /x
  Example:
  C:\kes 10\en\setup.exe /x
- For version SP1 MR2 (10.2.4.674), SP1 MR3 (10.2.5.3201), SP1 MR4 (10.2.6.3733):
  msiexec.exe /x {7A4192A1-84C4-4E90-A31B-B4847CA8E23A}
- Version SP2 (10.3.0.6294) and later:

Follow the instructions in the Installation Wizard.

If your application is password-protected against unauthorized removal, run this command:

Removal through Kaspersky Security Center 10

Kaspersky Security Center 10 has the following task options for remote removal:

Group tasks for managed devices located in the same group.
Tasks for selected devices which can be chosen from any group of managed devices.

Removal through the group task

Open Kaspersky Security Center 10.
Select the group of devices, for example, Managed devices. Go to the Tasks node and click Create a task in the right frame.

Open the Administration Server, click Advanced → Remote uninstallation.

Click Uninstall the application supported by Kaspersky Security Center.

Selecting the application to remove.

Select the application for removal.
Configure the operating system restart.
Select the user account for running the task.
Configure the task schedule.
Enter the name for the task.
If necessary, select the checkbox Run task after Wizard finishes. Click Done.
Run the task manually or want until it runs according to the schedule.

The Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows remote uninstallation task will start.

Removal through the task for the device selection

Open Kaspersky Security Center 10.
Go to the Tasks node and click Create a task in the right frame.

Creating a task for a group of devices.

Open the Administration Server, click Advanced → Remote uninstallation.
Click Uninstall the application supported by Kaspersky Security Center.
Select the application for removal.
Configure the operating system restart.
Select the devices to which the task will be applied:
- Select networked devices detected by Administration Server. Select devices the Administration Server has detected.
- Specify device addresses manually, or import addresses from list. Specify NetBIOS names, DNS names, IP addresses and ranges.
- Assign task for device selection. Specify the device selection.
- Assign task to an administration group. Assign the task to the existing group of managed computers.

Selecting the devices to which the task will be applied.

Select the user account for running the task.
Configure the task schedule.
Enter the name for the task.
If necessary, select the checkbox Run task after Wizard finishes. Click Done.
Run the task manually or want until it runs according to the schedule.

The Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows remote uninstallation task will start.

If the removal of Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows is password-protected, go to the Uninstall application remotely task properties, open the Settings section and select the Use uninstall password checkbox.

Limitations of embedded operating systems support

We recommend that you use Microsoft Windows Embedded 8.0 Standard x64 (Standard 8) or Microsoft Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry x64 (Industry 8.1) on devices with at least 2 GB RAM.
Encryption of files (FLE) and hard drives (FDE) is not supported in the embedded operating systems.

Server platform support limitations:

The ReFS file system is supported with limitations.
The Server Core and Cluster Mode configurations are not supported.
Disk encryption (Kaspersky FDE) and encryption of files on server platforms are not supported.

In case of remote installation, you must add the /pCITRIXCOMPATIBILITY=1 key into the kud file.
Installation of Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 Service Pack 1 to a Microsoft Windows XP virtual machine running on Citrix XenDesktop is not supported.
Using Target Device for creating images of virtual machines with Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 Service Pack 1 installed that run under Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Vista is not supported.
