Web Anti-Virus is enabled by default.

We do not recommend that you disable the component as it will reduce the protection of your computer.

1. In the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security, click .

2. Go to the Protection section.
3. Enable or disable Web Anti-Virus using the switch on the right.

Web Anti-Virus will be enabled or disabled.

2. Go to the Protection section and click Web Anti-Virus.

3. Select the protection level:
   • High. Suitable for active internet users. It ensures maximum protection of the computer, but reduces its operating speed. You can adjust Kaspersky Internet Security to optimize its performance without slowing down your computer. See this article for instructions.
   • Recommended. Set by default. It ensures optimal protection and operating speed of the computer.
   • Low. Suitable for those who rarely use the internet. It ensures minimal protection of the computer, but does not reduce its operating speed. Before selecting this level, perform a full scan of your computer. See this article for instructions.

4. Select an action to be performed when a threat is detected:
   • Select action automatically. The application will perform an action recommended by Kaspersky engineers.
   • Prompt on detection. The application will inform you about suspicious activity and prompt you to either block or allow it. This option is available if interactive protection mode is selected. By default, automatic protection mode is used. If you disable it, the application will switch to the interactive mode. For details, see this article.
   • Block. The application will block a dangerous object and display a message about an infection attempt.
   • Allow. Web Anti-Virus will allow the object to be opened or downloaded, and then will check it for viruses.

When the application detects a potential threat, it will perform the action that you have set.

2. Go to the Protection section and click Web Anti-Virus.

3. Click Advanced Settings.

4. Make sure the Automatically activate Kaspersky Protection extension in browsers checkbox is selected.

5. Make sure the Check URLs checkbox is selected and choose an option:

   • If you don’t want to scan web traffic on trusted websites, add these sites to exclusions.
     Select On all websites except those specified and click Manage exclusions. Click Add, enter the web address mask and click OK.
     Web traffic received from these websites will not b scanned. All other websites will be scanned.

   • 

   • If you want to scan web traffic only on some websites, add these sites to the scan list.
     Select On specified websites only and click Configure checked websites. Click Add, enter the web address mask and click OK.
     Web traffic received from these websites will be scanned. Traffic from other websites will be skipped.

6. To select the links and website categories to scan, click Configure URL Advisor.
7. Click Configure trusted URLs and add websites that you trust. The application will not scan them.
8. Select URL databases that must be used to perform an additional scan. We recommend that you enable all checkboxes.

Links and websites will be scanned according to the settings that you have configured.
