How to update Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 through proxy server

If you use a proxy server to connect to the Internet, you may need to configure the proxy server settings for correct connection. An Internet connection is required for normal functioning of some protection components in Kaspersky Internet Security 2016, as well as for updating databases and application modules.

If you do not know your proxy server settings, contact your Internet provider.

To adjust proxy server settings:

1. Open the Settings window in Kaspersky Internet Security.
2. In the lower part of the main application window, click Settings.
3. In the Settings window, go to the Additional section and select Network.

4. In the Network settings window, click Proxy server settings.

5. In the Proxy Server Settings window, select Automatically detect proxy server settings.

6. If the proxy server settings are not detected, select the Use specified proxy server settings option and enter the IP address and port number in the corresponding fields.
7. If you use a local network that requires server authentication, select the Use proxy server authentication check box and enter your user name and password in the corresponding fields.
8. To bypass proxy server when connecting to local addresses, select the check box Bypass proxy server for local addresses. When you clear the check box, connection to local addresses will go through proxy server. This will increase your traffic.
9. In the Proxy Server Settings window, click Save.

10. Run the databases update.
