How to enable or disable the Trusted Applications mode in Kaspersky Internet Security 2015

The Trusted Applications mode in Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 blocks all applications that are not considered Trusted (for example, the applications on which there is no information in Kaspersky Security Network database or those received from an unreliable source). Thus, Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 only allows known and trusted applications and ensures their safe execution.

The Trusted Applications mode only works with Application Control, File Anti-Virus, and System Watcher enabled.

Improvements to the Trusted Applications mode

• The application's performance in the Trusted Applications mode has been improved.
• Protection in the Trusted Applications mode has been improved: applications are controlled at the initial stage of the system startup; .NET applications are now protected.

How to enable or disable the Trusted Applications mode

By default, the Trusted Applications mode is enabled. Before enabling the mode, Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 analyzes your operating system and the applications installed on your computer. The analysis is performed at the initial startup of the mode and may take a considerable time, up to several hours.

To enable the Trusted Applications mode:

1. Open Kaspersky Internet Security 2015.
2. In the lower-right part of the window, click the link Show additional tools.

3. In the Tools window, click the Application Control button.

4. In the Application Control view, do the following:

• Enabling the mode

• In the Trusted Applications mode is disabled section, click the Enable link.

• Analysis of system files and installed applications starts. Wait until the analysis is complete.

• If you do not want Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 to block the launch of the unknown applications found, click the button Do not enable Trusted Applications mode.

• If the analysis discovers system files and or a number of applications about which there is not enough information, a respective message will appear in the Trusted Applications mode window. To view the list of unknown files, click the link Go to the list of applications and files in order to make a decision.

• See the list. Click the Enable Trusted Applications mode by default button.

Disabling the mode

• In the Trusted Applications mode is enabled section, click the Disable link.

5. Close the application window.
