Use Analytics with your site
You can collect basic data from your website with Analytics.*
Note: This section is for new Google Sites (at the bottom right, you'll see Create ). Get help with classic Google Sites.
Step 1: Get an Analytics tracking ID
- Sign up for an Analytics account if you don’t already have one.
- Find your Analytics tracking ID.
Step 2: Add Analytics tracking
- On a computer, open a site in new Google Sites.
- Click More
Site Analytics.
- Enter a valid tracking ID. It should look like: UA-XXXXXX-X.
- Click Save.
It can take up to 24 hours for data to show up in Analytics.
Step 3: See your data
- Open Analytics.
- View your data. Find out how to use Analytics.
Note: Publishing a custom path to a page or renaming a page will create a new URL and might affect data tracking with Analytics.
Classic Google Sites
Note: This section is for classic Google Sites (at the top left, you'll see "Create"). Get help with New Google Sites.
Use Analytics with your site
Get an Analytics tracking ID
- Sign up for an Analytics account if you don’t already have one.
- Find your Analytics tracking ID.
Add Analytics tracking
- On a computer, open a site in classic Google Sites.
- Click Settings
Manage site.
- Under "Statistics," click the Down arrow
Use Universal Analytics.
- In the text box, under "Analytics Web Property ID," enter a valid tracking ID. It should look like: UA-XXXXXX-X.
- At the top, click Save.
It can take up to 24 hours for data to show up in Analytics.
