Newbie to X-Servers here, I am facing the same issue. Plink is version 0.81, xlaunch > Not seeing a version number but file timestamp is 2021/12/31. Any simple way to solve this? I can launch VcXsrv manually, SSH to my remote host and start client sessions but I would like to automate it with an xlaunch file. Thank you!

I launched VcXsrv through local connection (no SSH). The issue continue to occur, this time in pycharm (java application), a JetBrain python IDE. When the issue occur, the unchecking of the 'Clipboard may use PRIMARY selection' stop repeated keystrokes. Hence it seems it is actually a clipboard issue. Attached the log for this issue (not sure this is the good log file ... display is not the correct one)

The VCXSrv.0.log contains messages captured in a session that crashed. The VCXSrv.0.log.old contains messages captured in a session that didn't crashed. Hope it'll help ...

The Javadoc cannot be viewed, both hovering a class or a method and then pressing F2, or using the Javadoc view. Nothing in the log..< I have libwebkit2gtk-4.0-3 under Ubuntu 22.04.2 installed, in WSL 2 Works cith WSL and guiApplications=true in my .wslconfig, but I prefer VcXsrv Any help appreciated ;)

I found log file in c:\Users\win10\AppData\Local\Temp\VCXsrv.0.log Inside logfile I saw that vcxsrv tries to load a .Xwinrc . I have no .Xwinrc I found out that on that PC that not worked properly vcxsrv had version 64.1.14, other PC in same network hat 64.1.20. I updated to 64.1.20 , then topmost works. But still strange, that my setting in system.XWinrc are still not considered : deleting "noframe" no frame appears on that PC. In other a other office with 12 Win10-PCs the version vcxsrv-64.1.14.5.installer.exe...

I'm also experiencing the same problem with 1.20.14.0 (31 Dec 2021) when trying to launch via xlaunch. However, I can raise windows when I ssh myself into the remote server and set the DISPLAY variable and execute "xhost +" (example only, I usually scope xhost to just the destination machine) so I opted not to downgrade. VcXsrv is running on Win10 10.0.19045 Build 19045 .2604 version 22H2 Experience pack 120.2212.4190.0 Client machine runs Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS

Wondering if this has gone anywhere? I have the exact issue but I'm just using ssh on the standard Windows 10 command line. All equivalent configurations are the same and I receive the same error. PuTTY however works without issue. What is it that PuTTY is doing that isn't being done using ssh?

Hello, styles { Tk noframe topmost } in system.XWinrc is not working with every win10 installation. But nearly any. What setting/bug in Win10 could prevent to allow a window to be "topmost"? I'm not too familiar with Docker, but couldn't you upload that image to the docker repository so people only need to download it, start it, run git pull and are ready to go for building it? This would also allow a CI service to run a "nightly build" and make the resulting files available for download.
