I live in beautiful Queensland in Australia. I started writing in 2009 because I wanted to do something creative and haven't stopped since! I have two series of books:
The Heller series (first book Heller - free!) features the frequently outlandish adventures of security officer, Tilly Chalmers, and her complicated relationship with her beautiful, mysterious and intense boss, Heller. There will be seven books in total in this series.
The Little Town series (first book Blood Ties - free!) features police officer, Tess Fuller, and her struggle to survive a long-standing vendetta with the feral Bycraft family and at the same time manage the tense relationship between her new partner, Finn Maguire, and her boyfriend, Jake Bycraft. There will be five books in total in this series.
My author dream is to one day write a short story (which for me will probably be about 50,000 words!) where Tilly & Heller meet Tess & Finn. What a story that would be! Maybe over the end-of-year break???
I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them! I'd love to hear your feedback, so why not email me at: [email protected]

Very interesting read, I must say. I never read long books, but I decided to start with Heller. It got me hooked until I finished it, in only three days. That's a record!!! I loved the action, the humor, the characters and everything.
PS: I also fell in love with Heller.

All Tilly aka Matilda wanted to be was an actress. She looses her current acting job. Now what ! No money to pay rent , food or bills .She certainly doesn"t want to move back home with mom and dad at the age of 25! She sets herself up for a job interview at a security company. She gets with job with a one month trial . Her boss Heller is hot and sexy ! Will she keep her mind on her job and try to not to cause trouble cause she is apparently a TROUBLE MAGNET according to her co workers. Tons of laughs and adventure . Love the characters and the story line. Can't wait to see what happens in book 2! 5/5 Stars!!!!!

My retirement has finally given me time to read something other than business papers, and this novel has been THE BEST of the dozen or so works that I have enjoyed. JD Nixon's writing style is virtually flawless and the plots and character development are realistic, thoughtful, and exciting. Some Aussie lexicon, but nothing that is difficult. Romantic and at times lusty, but never gross. This is truly a can't-put-it down, so set aside some time for a great read. All of the series are excellent - can't wait for "Heller's Decision" as I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the rest.

Just finished reading Heller and am disappointed. The personalities of the two central characters quickly change from one extreme to the other. It's like both of them are bipolar. Having read Blood Ties by the author I was prepared for over the top characters, but characters I could relate to. The situations the heroine is placed in, her actions and the results of those actions are not creditable and I lost interest before the book was finished.
