TheWrap in 2015 brought its successful Power Women franchise to two new cities, San Francisco and New York. And in 2016, brought the series to Washington, D.C., building a broad network and community of professional women who are decision-makers and mothers, leaders and wives, innovators and activists.

Akerman has been tearing up Hollywood with her beauty and charisma, her sharp comedic timing and her touching dramatic performances. She currently stars in Showtime’s television series Billions, alongside Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti. The series has been picked up and will start shooting season two in Summer 2016.
Akerman’s range in comedy and drama is exemplified by her diverse body of work in film and television. Most recently, Akerman starred in the feature film Final, I’ll See You In My Dreams and Misconduct. She can next be seen in the independent film, The Ticket, opposite Dan Stevens and directed by Ido Fluk, which will make its feature debut at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival. She has also starred in The Heartbreak Kid, 27 Dresses, The Proposal, Couples Retreat, Watchmen, Wanderlust, Rock of Ages, and Hotel Noir. Her breakthrough came in 2005 on the HBO series The Comeback, with Lisa Kudrow.
Poppy Crum is Head Scientist at Dolby Laboratories and is a Consulting Professor at Stanford University in the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics and the Program in Symbolic Systems. At Dolby, Poppy directs the growth of internal science. She is responsible for integrating neuroscience and psychophysical knowledge into algorithm design, technological development, and technology strategy. At Stanford, her work focuses on the impact and feedback potential of new technologies with gaming and immersive environments on neuroplasticity.
Poppy also represents scientific interests among external standards bodies and scientific organizations. She is currently a U.S. representative to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and was a fellow of the US Defense Science Research Council. Prior to joining Dolby Laboratories Poppy was Research Faculty in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where her research focused on the functional circuitry of the auditory cortex. Poppy is a Fellow of the Audio Engineering Society. She completed her: Post-Doctoral work at Johns Hopkins in Biomedical Engineering; PhD at UC Berkeley in Neuroscience/Psychology; M.A at McGill University in Experimental Psychology, and B.Mus at the University of Iowa in Violin Performance.
Krista Anderson is Chief Customer Officer at Okta, charged with ensuring world-class customer support, customer success and training programs across a global customer base that spans many geographies, industries, and use cases.
Anderson brings more than 13 years of experience to Okta, delivering superior levels of adoption, loyalty and customer satisfaction for both enterprise and small business customers. Prior to joining Okta, she served as senior vice president, Customers for Life at salesforce.com, where she managed a portfolio comprising the largest and most strategic enterprise customers, including HP, Cisco, Dell and Allergan.
Krista earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Oregon. She also enjoys skiing, traveling and home remodeling and interior design projects.
Jennifer Jolly is one of the nation's most trusted experts when it comes to reviewing and explaining consumer electronics, digital parenting and the days' top tech trends. A 20-year broadcast industry veteran, Jennifer is now the Wired Well columnist for the New York Times, the syndicated columnist and video series host for USA Today's Tech Now, and a Tech Life Contributor to the Today Show.
This energetic media maven began her career as an A&R executive at DreamWorks and Interscope Records. After ten years in music, she transitioned to film and TV where she wrote, directed and produced. Her love of innovation and technology – coupled with a desire to bridge the gap between entertainment and tech – led to her current position at Box. Today, Jade oversees Box’s media and entertainment strategies globally.
Lisa Stone is an entrepreneur and digital media strategist with 18 years of experience developing scale consumer communities via storytelling, quality conversation and analytics. Most recently, Lisa was CEO and Co-founder of BlogHer Inc., where she grew an idea for a grassroots conference into a leading start-up reaching 100+ million women each month, $30 million in annual revenues and a proprietary technology platform for engaging social influencers. She also executive-produced BlogHer’s conferences, the world’s largest for women in social media (her past interviews include President Barack Obama, Sheryl Sandberg, Soledad O’Brien, and Melinda Gates). In 2014, Lisa led the sale of BlogHer to SheKnows Media, creating the #1 women’s lifestyle digital media company. Previously, Lisa pioneered the first blog publishing network at Law.com, and was Vice President, Programming and Editor in Chief at Women.com Networks, where she led original programming and partnerships (Bloomberg, Gallup, E! Online, HBO’s Sex and the City), and helped launch 11 Hearst and two Rodale magazine sites.
Courtnee Westendorf is Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for the Oakland Raiders. In this role Courtnee is chartered with the protection, evolution and growth of the Raiders brand, as the team looks to strengthen its' relationship with one of the most diverse and passionate global fan bases in the National Football League. Her responsibilities include consumer marketing, corporate communications, social engagement, advertising, promotions and enhanced game day experiences.
Prior to joining the Raiders, Courtnee served as Vice President of Marketing for Intel Corporation, one of the world's largest and most iconic technology brands. While at Intel, Courtnee redefined brand marketing partnerships for the company through unique engagements with some of the world’s leading sports properties, including Barcelona FC and the San Francisco 49ers. Courtnee also held senior leadership roles for Intel in advertising, events, entertainment and digital media.
Sharon Waxman, CEO and Editor in Chief, is an entrepreneur, an award-winning journalist and best-selling author. She founded TheWrap in 2009 and has led its rapid growth to a leading position covering the business of entertainment and media. Waxman is also the creator of the Power Women Breakfast series, which launched in 2010 in Los Angeles.
Waxman is a former Hollywood correspondent for The New York Times and a leading authority on the entertainment business and media. Before the Times, she was a correspondent for eight years for The Washington Post. She started out as a foreign correspondent, covering Europe and the Middle East for a decade. She is the author of two books, including, “Rebels on the Backlot: Six Maverick Directors and How They Conquered the Hollywood Studio System” and "Loot: The Battle Over the Stolen Treasures of the Ancient World."
