Cork fabric is absolutely amazing to sew with – the natural cork, sustainably harvested from trees in Portugal, is bonded to cotton/poly blend fabric. It’s great for wallets, bags, and other small accessories. I stock about 80 variesties of cork fabric in my shop! read more

I love foundation paper-piecing, and so when I saw that Carl Hentsch of 3 Dog Design was coming out with a new book called ‘New York Beauties and Flying Geese’, I knew I’d be making a quilt from the book. read more

I made a couple of bags from the new barkcloth fabrics from Hoffman Fabrics. I have been really into the Me+You batiks, and their creator, Aaron Hoffman, is an accomplished surfer. When I received these fabrics in the mail to make the samples, I searched on some online surf and skateboarding shops to get some inspiration for what project I would make with them. read more

My friends Pat Sloan and Quilt Jane authored a book that just came out called the Splendid Sampler. This 100 block online quilt along was made into an already-successful book, also named the Splendid Sampler (so successful that it already went into its second printing on release day!). read more

I am very excited to finish up this quilt; I’ve been following along with the Milky Way Sampler quilt along at Blossom Heart Quilts. I love foundation paper-piecing, and star blocks in particular, so this quilt was right up my alley. The blocks are very straightforward, and I think even someone new to foundation paper-piecing would be able to accomplish this quilt with a bit of patience. I just love how the quilt turned out. read more
