Click-Special Edition

My entry to  Special edition Click-Yellow for Bri (Briana Brownlow of Figs with Bri).

Fellow blogger Bee & Jai have come up with this event to Support Briana who is battling Cancer.

Bri was diagnosed with breast cancer two and half years ago. A mastectomy, chemotherapy and two years of relatively good health later, the cancer is back. It has metastasized to other parts of her body. At the age of 15, Bri lost her 41-year old mother to the disease. Now, she’s waging her own war against breast cancer. Read more about Bri here.

They need 500 people willing to support Bri with a contribution of at least 25 dollars. That would help cover Bri’s out-of-pocket treatment costs for the next 12 months.

Any one who is willing to support Bri, Jai & Bee have a fundraiser where you can securely make payment through credit card or Paypal. All amounts go directly to Bri’s account. Visit Jugalbandi to make payments.

Best wishes Bri !

Spinach-Black-eye peas Fritters / Halasandekalu-Soppina Vade

I don’t make deep fried food very often, reason one being health concious and secondly I don’t like frying, after doing it I don’t like eating them. But I don’t mind eating it once in a while made be others.

When I get huge cravings to eat some spicy fried food, I can’t help but try and make it little healthy by adding spinach and lentils. So over the last weekend I made some Halasandekalu vade(black-eye peas) and spinach (soppu) vada.

I’ll send this as my entry to Mansi’s Fun & Food for Monthly Mingle-Appetizers & Hors’Doeuvres.

  • Green chillies- 3 or more chopped
  • Ginger- 2″ peice chopped
  • Red chilli powder- 1 tsp

  1.  Soak peas in 3 cups of water for 2 hours. Drain all the water and grind it to  course paste.
