Southsea

Locals on the beach

Military forts in the Solent

Toward old Portsmouth
Watching Isle of Wight ferry
End of Pier fun
Yesterday at Southsea we had perfect weather, sunny, not too hot, we walked along the whole of the seafront from Eastney, through Southsea and on to Old Portsmouth, chatting and enjoying everything around us.
We stopped for the most perfect brunch at a sea front cafe, eating poached eggs on toast with smoked salmon watching the tide coming in. The glimmer off the sea was stunning, a little starling was feasting on crumbs people were putting on the floor, unafraid of anyone, children loving it.
The above photo's were just a few of many, it looks as good as being along the Mediterranean, the Solent was as always very busy, the hovercraft making it's journeys to and from the Isle of Wright. Tankards heading for Southampton, cross channel ferries coming into Portsmouth, plus all the smaller boats, jet-skis, this stretch of water is always interesting to watch. There were a few people on the beach, but the promenade was full, as was all the little cafes along the way.
Daughter loved her day out together, we did not enter a shop at all, which is good as my daughter loves to shop, Will was at nursery, hubby spent the day at home, but if the sun shines this morning, hubby and I are going back to walk and brunch, whilst the sun shines we can have fun.

32

Lovely gift from hubby
 Instead of flowers
It's our wedding anniversary today, 32 years, how quickly the time has passed, later we will pop out for a walk along the coast at Lee on the Solent, I love this walk, we always chat as we walk, making the time enjoyable. For lunch I suggested we pop to a new tea room, loads of sandwiches and cake, perfect way to celebrate, we have no plans for the evening.
Hubby always purchases flowers on our anniversary, but this year he got me the succulent, it looks good on our dining room table, I will replace the white silk rose with a nice stone.

Staunton country park

I love these glass houses

and the gardens
Sam, Will and Josh
Best bit, the tractors
Love this photo of our boys
Josh and Sam loved walking with Will
We spent 5 hours at Staunton, it's a council run park, with a petting farm, loads of space for children to run around, the best bit being it's less than 30 minutes drive from home. It was delightful to see the three boys together, safe to be able to run around, get up close to all the different animals, and have lovely play parks.
We had our picnic lunch sat on the grass, sharing all the delights, Will did not eat much, he was excited and wanted to run around.
Will slept over last night and is here all day with another over night stay, mummy and daddy are at a wedding, and it much easier for them to not have to rush back. Plus we get two bath times in a row.

Village Fete

We had our village show yesterday,
so we took Will for a walk around
Will loved the big bunny with pink shoes
I finally found the black material and finished these two bags
I prefer these bags to the ones with colour linings.
 Another bag finished
I was later starting sewing on Friday morning, hubby needed a bit of help with the decorating, but the walls are finished in the stair well of the hall, just the glossing to do next week.
I managed to make the bags above, but then we got a call from mummy and Will, who wanted to pop over, we were having Will on a sleep over, so mummy and daddy could have an evening out together. So everything was packed away for now. Loads of fun at bath time, he is so comfortable at ours on a sleepover.
Saturday we were up at 6.30am, early for us, plenty of play time a lovely morning nap for Will and then we walked to our community center for the Village funday, it was dull overhead but dry, the lawns around the center were full of people and stalls, Fire engines were climbed over, everything checked out. Will was too young to try any of the stalls, but he loved seeing all the children, the big bunny came towards him and Will hid, but quickly he was OK and had a long cuddle. We had lunch out at a local Bistro, and later mummy came and collected him, so Nanna and Grancha had a quiet evening reading together. I have finished You are Dead by Peter James, another good book.
This morning again it's dull, I thought August was the best month for sunny weather, so far it's been more like October, later I have to pop into town, I want some tulips, Carnaval de nice, which I got from Wilko's last year, I would like to see their stunning blooms again next year.
No decorating today, we will start back tomorrow, I agree with your comments, we do not like decorating, with our home being open planned once you start one area you have to keep going until it's all finished, it does help we only have painted walls, so once it's washed down it just needs a couple coats of paint. Hope to get it done before the end of the month.

Park walk.

I walk through this park twice each day, early in the morning and then early evening, we are so lucky to have this so close to our home. The wild flower meadow was redone this year, it's stunning, the gardens are weeded often. The council is allowing the residents to chose how to replace the dated play area, it will still be a play area after it has been updated, it's an area where all our grans sons have loved playing.
