The master of camouflage - Green Vine Snake
Green vine snake , the name itself implies their slender vine like yellowish green body gliding through the leaves. This leaves like colour provide them excellent camouflage when they are up in the trees.One can lost the sight of snake with slightest distraction from the target. The shape of head form like a flat & pointed leaf as it is slightly thicker than body. They have horizontal pupils.
All snakes have their own way to defend against possible danger...threatening is achieved through threat display by opening it's mouth wide and expanding it's body so that it looks thicker than usual. While threatening it's colour changes from pale green to dark green.
Green Vine snake hunt using their sense of smell. They wait for right opportunity taking advantage of their camouflage white moving through the tree in search of suitable prey. Once they locate it, they bite on it's head, after that they start chewing, releasing their venom. Once the prey stopped moving , they swallow it whole and the rest high up in the tees for digestion.
Green vine snakes are ovoviviparous, means their eggs remain inside the body of the female until they are fully developed, then they hatch and are born as live young, capable of hunting from the moment they are born.
