Proof that the No Hedging rule is designed to make retail traders lose money.

In the first run, the strategy would only close the trades of the buy side when the profit target was hit or the max loss was hit. It did the same for the sell side.

In the second run, when the market gave mixed signals, the buy trades were closed immediately whenever it seemed like it was time to sell, and the sell trades were closed immediately when it appeared that it was time to buy.

The difference is apparent in the long term expectancy of trading with and without hedging enabled. With hedging enabled the account tripled over 5 years. With hedging disabled the account didn't even double.

Being able to go long and short on the forex market is an advantage that brokers and other traders around the world have, but a U.S. retail trader does not. This puts us at a severe disadvantage to the rest of the market and basically guarantees that we will be giving our money to everyone else.

The same thing can be said for FIFO rules.

What other market forces you to sell your oldest inventory first? Food? Is an FX trade posing a health risk due to spoilage? What purpose is there to forcing a trader to close a position at an inopportune time, other than to simply separate him from his money? Would you imagine a world where you purchase two cars, first a classic porche, second a dumpy grocery getter just to get you around for a bit. Then, when you want to sell them there's a rule that you have to sell the porche before you sell the grocery getter? Sounds shady to me... What if I want to hang on to the porche because it still has value to me, meanwhile I don't need the gas guzzling grocery getter because I bought a scooter or whatever...

Between FIFO and No Hedging, you're going to be forced to trade more often than necessary. Basically the laws force you to churn your account as quickly as possible, and handicap you from executing profitable strategies. Why would these rules be put into place as "protections" for the trader when it is so blatantly obvious that they only harm the trader? It's really fishy, and I'm wondering if it's this "self regulated" regulatory agency making up rules that harm traders and only benefit brokers. I mean, isn't the self regulated regulator comprised of brokers who have paid the government to be members, then come up with these "protections"?

Scam. Blatant Scam.
