Hi Ramsay!
My name is Nita Okoye from Nigeria, i want to launch my Relationship and Marriage Vlog on YouTube but I have been reading a lot of articles written by you including 19 things to know before launching a blog and you keep mentioning the advantages of using paid websites.
Now am thinking if am making the right choice by wanting to use YouTube. Is it also necessary that I get a website where I can also write and not just the videos?
Please I would appreciate your advice, thank you.
Nita Okoye.

With the news about the global carbon levels reaching a critical level I feel like promoting this post more than ever. I get a lot of hate whenever I do, but I think it's making a small difference as more and more websites go carbon neutral.
Every time someone visits your website a server somewhere needs power. More often than not that power comes from a 'dirty' electricity source. Websites now produce a huge chunk of global greenhouse gasses. Over a year we're potentially talking tonnes of pollution into the atmosphere for each website that goes online. It's pretty frightening. But there is good news: we can cheaply and effectively offset this carbon and make our websites much green...

My partners over at BlueHost are giving Blog Tyrant readers a super special discount for today only. I usually hate direct promos like this, but the price is so good it really will help some people start blogs on a self-hosted setup. Details here: http://www.blogtyrant.com/start-a-new-blog/

Absolutely worth the drive. The most stunning range and incredible knowledge from people who are so gracious in sharing their vast knowledge of all things trees. Can't recommend it enough for commercial or residential jobs.

Delicious vegan food that even non-vegans will love. The cold brew is an amazing coffee. Highly recommend if you're down that end of Perth.

I first met Mark (the owner) when he was working as a travel agent at a different company. But when he left to start his own agency with his wife I, and a lot of his other customers, followed him over without hesitation. It's been awesome to watch RoundAbout Travel flourish over the years (10 staff as of 2014!) and they've never forgotten what made them so good in the first place: incredible knowledge and customer service. Mark and his team have booked me and my family tickets to India, China, Borneo and around Europe. They always fight to get you the best route and, most importantly, are ultra-responsive if you ever run into problems overseas. Can't recommend them enough.

Disclaimer: I know the owners and helped them a little bit with the building stage. As such I can vouch for the lockers and benches - very sturdily put together. Try them. In all seriousness, this is the kind of studio I wish we had back when I was practicing martial arts. It's got a genuinely lovely community that's constantly growing, and the space itself is modern and open, but still very friendly and calming. The mural of Saraswati next to exposed red bricks on the yoga room wall is a good example of this. Heaps of types of classes (some really hard ones too!) and, for whatever reason, it's always really easy to park nearby.

Shino has an incredible skill for making you feel relaxed and welcome. Her massage style is quite unique and she has an obvious skill for finding your problem areas and working on them. I always sleep incredibly after having a massage! Highly recommend.

One of my favourite new places to come and sit with the laptop for hours. Big warehouse space, not too busy, and the perfect creamy coffee you only get from the best coffee makers.
