Trusted Contacts is a personal safety app that opens a direct line of sharing between you and your loved ones.

• Add your closest friends and family as trusted contacts
• Allow trusted contacts to request your location. If everything’s fine, you can deny the request, but if you’re unable to respond your location is shared automatically (works even if you’re offline or your phone is out of battery)

Hoping for a Latitude replacement, this is not it The notifications seem like a pointless annoyance. If I'm adding someone to my trusted contacts, I'm fine with them seeing wherever I am at any time. Likewise, say I want to check the progress of my parents on a road trip, I want to do so without them having to accept a notification while driving.

Utterly useless! First time I used it with my son's mobile, it said the location was 1 day out of date and only accurate within 180 metres. The second time, it shows his location to an accuracy of 1177 metres and says it was updated 1 day ago. Complete waste of time.

Good idea, but STUPID implementation!! If we add each other as trusted contact, we should be able to view each others current location without requesting every single time. The way it is currently implemented is very annoying with the location request which is disguised as phone call. Also the location dot on map didn't show any indication if that dot was mine or the other person. What's the point of calling it TRUSTED contact?? Call it LET ME ANNOY YOU WITH LOCATION REQUEST.

Good idea, flawed execution Why must I wait five minutes for a location update? If I suspect somebody is in trouble, it's very silly to force this delay then give me the data anyway. Poor design decision

You have to request permission for already trusted contacts I use Life360 to get real-time notifications of where my family is going and its able to even track car ride speeds, charge levels, etc. It's become so accurate I get a notification as soon as they reach work or home without any delay. This app on the other hand, requires permission each time to get their location. I can't even see location history. I could easily do the same thing with any messenger and asking them to attach their location to the chat... Useless.

This app is a bit slow to start a location share / location request. Once the location share starts the app runs well and is fairly accurate to show the location. I wish this app can have a web interface as well since I don't always work with my phone next to me.

Um no don't think so Not sure what Google is trying to accomplish with this app. Maybe if this app was out like 5 years ago. Complete waste of time. Don't bother go get life 360 its way more useful.

Adding by email is troublesome It'll be much easier to add by phone contacts NOT by email and why does we need to request for location since we already add those contacts to our trusted contacts? Doesnt make sense at all..

Doesn't work half the time. Worked perfectly on one device and then refuses to give notifications on another device and instead dents an email minutes later helping me there was a request. Kind of useless without alerts.

Like 4 of my contacts only show up but they don't have the app either so idk what the deal is. When I downloaded this I though it was the locations feature from google+. That one is awesome this I don't get

Need the update.!! I use this app from December. It was well working. But now I facing a lot of trouble in starting of the app. And it also facing problem in catching device's location and unable to start after reboot.

Meh I mean... it should just show a quick map when a location in shared with you. I don't need an email for that. I'm like many others a have reviewed this: Latitude made more sense. This app doesn't even show most recently shared location on a map. 😒

Like getting constant notifications? The app works well for finding your family members in case of emergency or finding their lost phones. But that's the only good thing. This app gives constant notifications of nothing, things like "your wife is charging her phone" and you cannot remove them from the notification shade or glance/lock screen. To make things even more frustrating, if you hide or block notifications, then when someone requests your location, you won't find out.

Huge Delays Using 2 galaxy phones, s7 and s6 my partner and I tested these in well covered areas with all services on. Partner arrived over 30 minutes ago and I still see mid way. Partner says she sees last viewed 30 min ago, I have been checking every 5 minutes with a timer. Needs faster, even real time updates. 30+ minutes means it's not even helpful in monitoring possible emergencies (storms, blizzards, etc)

Kludgy and Annoying The idea of this type of app is appealing to me as it could facilitate a quicker response to the "where am I at now" query that is common among families and friends. It is lacking in that out doesn't currently allow custom ringtone and vibration settings per person, or more importantly at a global level. I would also like to designate automatic actions per person such as auto reply with location for a custom timeframe, or disable the default approval with no response.

Adding email is big trouble. I have installed app and used it. It worked fine but .... Email adding is total trouble. Instead of email, phone contacts are much easier to sent the location.

Takes a very long time to load or open. When I get it to load Home, it says I have No Internet Connection even though I'm connected to an LTE network. I tried reinstalling a number of times but this persists.

Good idea but full of bugs Installed app and added a trusted contact. App now permanently stalled. Hopefully Google will continue to develop and iron out the flaws.

Bring back latitudes I gave this a go after Latitudes was taken away some time ago. There should be an always sharing option with contacts you choose. We shouldn't have to continually ask to share our locations with each other. Fix this!!

Annoying Too many pop-ups and email notifications. Please turn off the 5 minute waiting period. It is not necessary because access is already authorised by the user. Might as well just keep using Google+ for sharing locations.

I trusted you ... Trusted contacts is a decent application with a great idea. But it needs better notifications. I think that it should integrate with Google Now, Google Keep, and Google Calendar's reminder functionality. Allowing only trusted contacts to set reminders for you.

Can't set message tone and can't always share to certain contacts. No geofences or even proximity alerts. 5 minute delay should be configurable. For now I'll keep using "Friend Locator" for now, will check back every so often.

Needs serious improvements I totally get that it could require an email for contacts, but why not also allow just phone numbers, especially contacts in our phone to have access? I don't want my family members knowing my Gmail but I 'd be okay with this app sending my location if I can't in 5 minutes. But it cant even do that since it does n't let me choose a contact who only has their phone number. It's looking like it's going to be another Allo, a Google app with pretty much no settings and doesn't even use the contracts permission

Buggy & totally unintuitive Shows an annoying persistent notification popup in the tray, which I cannot remove and which is there even after I removed the user in question from my contact / permission list. This aside, looking at a person's location as well as adding and removing them is really complicated and counterintuitive. There were many apps before that could have been used as a reference, but no, it seems they just started from scratch.

It works but... It is designed to protect your location and for safety, and that works. But I wish there was the option to always allow your location to be seen by people you add, just as you could in Latitude and can in Google+.
