SPEED READING

Increase your reading speed in 1.5-2 times straight away! If you wish you could read 3 or even 4 times faster than usual without the slightest loss of meaning.

Reedy uses a technique called RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) allowing you to read with any comfortable speed. Words are shown fast one after another on the same place of the screen which increases the speed of perception of every single word. With RSVP you can read being entirely absorbed into a book.

Look straight at the displayed word and try to perceive it without subvocal articulation. Also, don’t forget to blink. This recommendation can be applied not only to reading :) You should never let your eyes’ surface get dry.

Increase the speed when you get used to and think you’re ready.

✔ Touch the screen to play or pause;
✔ The speed of reading is up to 3000 words per minute with a possible gradual acceleration;
✔ Progress bar and time left till the end of a book;
✔ Quick preview of the full text (including text formatting, images, tables, etc.) during a pause in the speed reader;
✔ Smart slowing – reducing the speed at punctuation marks and complicated words;
✔ Focus mode – the focus point is shifted closer to the beginning of a word;
✔ Navigation through the sentences and paragraphs;
✔ Switch easily between the regular reading and the speed reading;
✔ Use volume buttons to control the speed reader:
— Press any volume button once to stop or proceed the reading. Press and hold to navigate through sentences;
— Or just use volume buttons for quick speed adjusting.

HOW TO BEGIN THE READING

✔ Open a file from your device or sd-card using built-in file manager.
Formats: FB2, EPUB (no DRM) / KEPUB, TXT, HTML + reading books in ZIP-archives.
✔ Send a web page from your favorite web browser, Pocket, Feedly, Evernote;
✔ Use Reedy for opening books from another apps and clouds (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.);
✔ Copy any text or link and paste it into the reader.
Also you can simply share it with Reedy.

I have used various apps on speed read and text to speech but this app is fantabulous in performance. Its continuous use leads to gradual improvement in one's reading speed. I am a net-freak guy and this app is best in the app-store for surfing and reading web articles in a friendly and time saving manner.. Only limitation is its non-availability for PDF format. I am waiting for its update to PDF n txt format. Also the upgrading app for ad-free usage by watching in-app videos don't work many a times and it need much improvement and changes.

Of all the speed reading apps I've used, Reedy really has pushed my reading speed up. Try a speed that is WAY uncomfortable, where you're just getting the gist of the content. Then read it again at a speed 25 or 50% faster than your normal speed. Seems easy! Latest update 9/2017 is EXCELLENT for reading web pages. Great update guys!

I love it! I went through and tested quite a few speed reading apps, and this is by far my favorite. Two suggestions: Is there a way to make the TTS pause less often? When I listen and read at 3x, it needs to stop for a bit to catch up. Is there a way to move the TTS reading speed past 3x or is this an android limitation?

Reedy is best rsvp app for Android so far, but it needs to allow a user preference to change from scrolling text to true word flash experience! Only other thing I can think of right now make Reedy a true rsvp is change the UX experience of full-text view, pause and resume functions, current view is a bit dull and makes user guess a lot and causes to change cursor/marker position by mistake.

I've taken fancy of this application. It works like wonders! The Speed and Accuracy are of no doubt-On point! I had tried apps that works as specifically exact as what I've wanted and frankly, this app was the only application that held my interest. Satisfyingly sufficient for my Researching needs as a High School Student! If you're looking for a BRILLIANT app , I recommend you Install this and see the difference of what you have installed before!

This app is so much better than Pocket! Text to speech feature is light years ahead of any other app I've try. The only thing this app is missing is account Syncing like Pocket, otherwise it's perfect and essential if you read a lot of article or recreational like fanfictions. Pls support the dev. Edit: the new updates is awesome, much improved lag build up when using text-to-speech along with TTS uneven voice volume level.

3x is a limitation of android TTS functionality. But I have few ideas for handling this thing with raw audio processing, probably it will be improved in future in terms of both playing performance and speed limit :)

Enabled TTS and spent 15 minutes troubleshooting, but could not get the speech to read aloud. It appeared as if it should be happening, but alas, no sound. Got a diff app to work.

By far the best reading app for speed reading. The voice reader is amazing as well. Love how you can get full experience just from watching 1 ad. It even show how long you have till book is done speed reading, but I wish the voice reader would do the same. I have tried different apps and I even have to debate using this or my gen 3 kindle. The app is pretty much free so try it out for yourself

Really like the idea but some of the execution and UX is off. The notification won't go away after using it. Very frustrating. On Android 8.0 and the notification won't go away no matter what I do. Would give 4/5 stars otherwise.

Text-to-speech notification should disappear when you leaving the text with the back button or when switching to other reading modes. Also, notification should be closable when expanded. On Android 8 you can expand it by tapping on a "Ready Reader" header in the notification. Then close it with the appeared "cross" icon.

FINALLY, there is a reliable text-to-speech app for reading websites. I have tried several others, and they are, frankly, all terrible. This app does so much more than that, but it's laudable for it's TTS service alone. The app is simple, reliable and free of distractions and cruft. WELL DONE TEAM!! Thank you!!!

Every thing is flaw less expect for Text to speech!! The sentence it recognizes are abrupt (Unnessary pauses) and makes it difficult for continuation.It would be nice if it takes whole paragraph for reading so that no break ups in the flow. If there is an adjustment in settings to correct the issue let us know.Thanks| Edited : Woww!! Thats really quick response from team.. AWESOME.. PLEASE DO PROVIDE PDF COMPATABILITY TOO..

Thank you for the feedback! We'll reduce unnecessary pauses in the future releases. Seems it's caused because TTS engine needs some time to generate voice sound. We'll optimize this generation flow.

This deserves to be seen as a classic. You can paste text and it reads it for you - lots of text - pages of it. You can link it to a Web site and it will read it for you. You can even have fun listening to the text being read in a foreign accent. The speed reading tool is phenomenal too!

The TTS does not work that well with plain text (Gutenberg) files. It inserts strange pauses at the end of each line even if the line ends in the middle of a sentence. That makes it harder to listen to the text.

This is the app is was looking for. You can zip through material at a fast clip with enhanced comprehension. Due to the adjustable speed of words shown you are gently forced to concentrate on what´s passing through the screen - word by word. It is extremely easy to use. Recommend it without any reservations.

This is hands-down the best ebook reader (including some outrageous paid apps) - with speed reading capability (does spritz speed reader functions without going online, unlike the normal spritz) , - with provision for multitudes of possibilities for tweeking its functionalities ( Good TTS, font changes) to make it as personal as you want, to give you the best reading experience you can have on your device. - dark and light themes and other basic stuff - smooth interface which almost never lags. -Can't load multiple books at the same time, have to load one book at a time - can't read PDFs - can't highlight This app deserves to be a paid app but by making it free the developer has done us all a favor and I'm thankful for that. P. S- IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU GUYS COULD ADD IN HIGHLIGHTING CAPABILITY

The only app that reliably and without complaint reads EPUBs using RSVP. I love it. Alongside Lithium, Reedy stands head and shoulders above the competition in terms of reliability, quality, and customizability. Suggestion: to try to break up the monotony of reading boring books quickly (like chewing through dry bread fast- Better than slow, but still horrid) offer the option to play selected light background music that isn't complex enough to distract, but playful enough to entertain.

Hello. I thought your app we be great to read text or article offline but it Is not at all as soon as I close my Internet connection be it WiFi or data I lose every text or article it does not save them at all it only copy them or take a kind of snapshot of the text. it does not save the entire text or entire article on my device so it is of no use to me so I am going to uninstaller sorry bit if you can fix that bug or when you fix it then I will consider your app again.

First: it is not a bug to fix - Reedy made for reading, not for saving random notes, texts or something. BTW, web pages are cached locally on opening. Second: it's not normal to treat free app creators like this, giving a one-star rating for using app not for its purpose and calling it a bug. Nobody will change app for one rude ungrateful user.

Hands down, this app is the perfect gem! Has TTS. Has Spritz (highly customizable!) and by press of a button you can check context from Spritz and jump straight back into to Spritz, or set up a few words to follow. Text reflow works like a dream and font is absolutely soothing. The interface is so simple yet contains so much. Best app on Google play!

There is nothing in Reedy that depends on any sort of reviews, what are you talking about? The app is fully free without any limitations on functionality. Approximate location is used for better ads targeting. You can disable ads by purchasing a PRO subscriptions. Anyway -- ads are small and not intrusive at all.

Suggestions: Needs a brightness slider, most competitors have it. An overlay to save links which appear after copying links to clipboard, like Article Reader. Options to customize the fonts and margins like Instapaper. A way to conveniently view images and tag articles like Pocket.

Did you enabled Text-to-Speech mode (it's not default) in the menu and have a working Text-to-Speech engine installed? Also, in speed reading mode there should be no sound at all, only in the TTS mode.
