Volunteer Management Internship
The Volunteer Management Intern will be responsible for developing and managing a volunteer recognition plan, as well as assisting with volunteer engagement and communication.
Time Commitment
10 hours per week, for six months. Flexibility available.
Location
This is an entirely remote position. Interns will be in regular contact with Volunteer Director and Volunteer Coordinator, as well as attend weekly online meetings.
This internship is unpaid, but can be a great learning experience for those interested in understanding non-profit volunteer engagement and project management.
Intern Responsibilities
- Create and manage a multi-faceted volunteer recognition plan and schedule
- Manage project using Asana
- Maintain volunteer data including tracking volunteer retention and engagement in various projects
- Perform other duties related to volunteer management as needed
- Participate in evaluation of volunteer programs
Position Requirements
- Access to a computer
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Documents
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively and follow deadlines

Presentation Design Internship
The Presentation Design Intern will assist the Presentation Design Director with routine aspects of creating the NutritionFacts.org videos.
Time Commitment
8-10 hours per week, for a minimum of six months, beginning immediately upon acceptance.
Location
This is an entirely remote position. The intern will work mostly independently, and have regular contact with his/her supervisor.
This internship is unpaid, but can be a great learning experience for those interested in nutritional research, presentation design and online video production.
Intern Responsibilities
- Work closely with Presentation Design Director to support production of videos from start to finish
- Capture and organize screenshots for use in presentations
- This involves learning Dr. Greger’s unique coding system for animations and transitions
- Script editing for videos and DVD volumes
- Brainstorm intriguing image ideas for video topics
Position Requirements
- Minimum screen resolution of 1920×1080 (preferably Mac)
- Must have Word and will need to download Dropbox
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Ability to follow deadlines
- Respond quickly to communications
- Self-motivated and well-organized with attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Keynote a plus, but not necessary

Graphic Design Internship
The Graphic Design Intern will be responsible for maintaining all of the graphic content for NutritionFacts.org’s videos and blogs. They will also work to create original infographics for use in social media.
Time Commitment
10 hours per week, for 6 months (Jan 5th to June 5th). Flexibility available.
Location
This is an entirely remote position. Interns will work mostly independently, with weekly Skype meetings with Nutritionfacts.org staff.
This internship is unpaid, but can be a great learning experience for those interested in maintaining web content and creating original graphics.
Intern Responsibilities
- Finding images to use in Nutritionfacts.org videos/blogs and Care2 blogs
- Cropping images for use in blogs and videos
- Creating infographics
- Work with social media intern to schedule Pinterest and Instagram graphics
- Design image mileposts for Facebook (i.e. “We’ve hit 200,000 fans!”)

Technical Support Internship
The Technical Support Intern will be responsible for responding to e-mails surrounding technical issues with the site, fixing any errors on the site, and compiling Google analytics.
Time Commitment
10 hours per week, for 6 months (Jan 5th to June 5th). Flexibility available.
Location
This is an entirely remote position. Interns will work mostly independently, with weekly Skype meetings with Nutritionfacts.org staff.
This internship is unpaid, but can be a great learning experience for those interested in gaining experience with IT support in the non-profit sector.
Intern Responsibilities
- Responding to e-mails regarding technical issues
- Finding and fixing errors with videos, pages, and images on Nutritionfacts.org
- Editing and proofreading written content on the site
- Working with customers who have issues downloading DVD volumes
- Compiling different Google Analytics
Position Requirements
- Access to a computer
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and patience to assist Nutritionfacts.org visitors
- Familiarity with general IT issues
- Basic problem solving skills

The Social Media Intern will be responsible for designing the social media schedule, performing A/B testing, creating Facebook posts, and maintaining our social media connections.

- E-mail other opinion leaders about pertinent posts each week
- Working with Graphic Design Intern to create infographics for use on Pinterest and Instagram
