Apartment Hunting Accomplished!!

Found a ridiculously awesome apartment on east 26th st.

Basement apartment.  HUGE living room and HUGE bedroom (for NYC) and… of all things… a BACK GARDEN!

Signing the lease tomorrow.

Super excited to be heading to NYC tomorrow for our apartment hunting trip.

I wish I had realized I was booking the flight in on Super Bowl Sunday…  but I am pretty sure that everyone going to the game will be there already by the time we are heading in.

Alas, it does mean the Sunday hotel is about $100 more than it would be otherwise.

Oh well – that’s what the moving money is for!

So on Sunday, the realtor came by to talk about selling the house.

On Monday, I sent over the signed listing agreement.

On Tuesday, the listing went up and the agent came by at 11 am to hang the lock box and take pictures.

On Tuesday at noon, another agent brought a client.

On Tuesday at 5 pm, we received an offer.

On Tuesday at 9:25, all the offer paperwork was signed and ready for the next steps of due diligence.

Unexpected speed, but yeah!!

OK – moving is exciting and scary!

House is listed.

Tickets are booked to go find an apartment.

Trip is booked to go visit my people in California and Texas to talk about jobs, etc.

SB is alternately excited for the move and depressed about leaving everything behind.

I guess I have an advantage there, as I am simply not “attached” to this place and will only miss my parents.

So it’s officially official!  I “signed” all the “paperwork” in the computer system.  All department employees have been told. My (previous) employees have been told.

Start date of new job is tomorrow! (Which was a bit of a shock, but apparently had to be done ASAP to get me into the “January” bucket for stock options something something blah blah blah).

Next steps…  Getting rolling on the changes in the new department.  AND…

Selling all my stuff and moving to The City!

Job is mine!  Job is mine!

Verbally offered and accepted this morning!

(gotta wait for HR to send the comp letter, etc next week)

But official!

The other candidates won’t find out until next week, so remaining hushed…  but!!!  WOOT!!!

Fancy pants job in New York City in charge of an entire enterprise-wide program is mine!

Hard work = paying off!

Interview today full of awesome.

Couple more hoops to jump through before official officialdomness!

I am absent from the blogosphere for the foreseeable.  Bucking for a promotion and busting my ass to try and prove my worth before decisions are made.
