How do you find which neurons respond to sounds, when this can differ between individuals and across sexes? Why not...image all of them? More of the (fruit fly) brain responds to sounds than just the "auditory" areas

Did you ever discover something significant that you never got to publish? (because the student left or whatever) There should be a “Journal for Lost Observations” - You just say what you found and hope that someone picks it up.

It's not even unique for preprints. Some people do it all the time with published papers by others. It's terrible, but it's also common.

Happy to share my first paper: nematodes are everywhere! They live in all soils across the world, in incredibly large numbers. For each human, there are about 60 billion nematodes in the Earths topsoil!
