In C-ville on the 1st anniversary of the rioting. I offer this confident prediction. There will be no repeat. Massive police presence, closures and metal detectors here. Authorities learned a hard lesson about police passivity in the face of unchecked violence.

WP/Slate, 2014: UVA's Jackie claimed assault by person who doesn't exist, at party that never occurred. RS retracts response: "There isn't a good reason to believe Jackie is lying" Skepticism about Sabrina Erdely story "channeled established rape culture responses."

No mention of Sarah Jeong’s demented tweets on her Wikipedia page. Why? A little group of activist editors won’t allow it. Amazing. See them in action here:

Where do you go when fact checkers have facts wrong? CNN in a “Reality Check” said, “The dossier was initially funded by Republicans who were opposing then candidate Trump...” The dossier didn’t exist when an R hired Fusion GPS. is a good man. I’m sure he’ll correct.

Helen seems friendly and rational. She writes for the New Yorker by the way.

Grown men and women giving the finger and telling another human being "You suck" and worse. I like to believe we are all capable of a lot better than this.

Just a sample of the sad scene we faced at the Trump rally in Tampa. I’m very worried that the hostility whipped up by Trump and some in conservative media will result in somebody getting hurt. We should not treat our fellow Americans this way. The press is not the enemy.

Now every pundit who predicted John Kelly's political demise gets to explain why President Trump wants him to stay on

People are dragging for upholding basic standards of decency and journalism. It's really pathetic.

Nice to see so many former White House correspondents like my friend standing behind what reporters do every day: Ask questions. Many times, President Trump answers. If he doesn’t, that’s his prerogative, but no one should be banned for doing this important job.

. is getting unwarranted flak tonight for siding with CNN and other news organizations protesting heavy-handed WH efforts to retaliate against for doing her job. He deserves praise for demonstrating solidarity in behalf of a free press.

Does having a security clearance mean that you're actually receiving security updates if you're not in the government? I think not. It's not like Team Trump is briefing Susan Rice. So what's the actual impact of revoking a security clearance, other than mere retaliation?

Local D.C. neighborhood Commissioners vote to support petition seeking removal of Trump International Hotel's liquor license on grounds that President Trump lacks the “moral character” to be licensed in D.C.

It's fun to watch those responsible for utter failures in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria act as if they somehow occupy the moral and strategic high ground when it comes to every other geopolitical conflict. Maybe sit a couple rounds out and think about what you've done.
