You may have noticed our flag is looking a little worse for wear. We’ll be changing it over as soon as it’s safe for the team – the Parliament House flagpole soars to 81m above the roof and winds can be strong. We’re hoping for Thursday at this stage – we'll keep you posted.

Hi , thanks for your message. You're right that the flag is due to be changed over, we just need the right weather so that it's safe for the team to make the trip up the mast.

Planning a visit to Parliament House soon? There will be no access to the roof from Monday 6 August due to scaffolding works associated with our skylight refurbishment program. The roof will be re-opened as soon as possible. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Thanks for the question! The tapestry is constructed in four panels and was shaped to go around the door, which you can see in this image of Arthur Boyd and Romaldo Giurgola in the artist studio. Fun fact: the panels weigh a combined 400kg!
