Violent crime has no place in our city, and there’s no higher priority for me than Londoners’ safety. Our Violent Crime Task Force are working round the clock to catch offenders & remove dangerous weapons from our streets.

It’s shocking that the Government extended the contract of the company responsible for chaos & disruption across the Thameslink network. Rail services should be devolved to so we can increase capacity, reduce journey times and improve reliability.

Cyclists, pedestrians & drivers will continue to be put in danger by irresponsibly opposing this scheme. This stretch of road simply isn’t safe, with 275 collisions in the last three years - our plans would change this.

Tonight, Londoners of all faiths remembered those we lost in the tragic Tower fire. We paid tribute to the heroic efforts of emergency services & recalled how the community, with an army of volunteers, came together, displaying the generosity & spirit of our great city.

I am sickened to hear that two young lives have been ended within minutes of each other in Wandsworth and Greenwich. If you have information that can help , do the right thing and call the police, either on 101 or anonymously, through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

In memory of the 72 lives we tragically lost two years ago, I joined the prayers today at the Al Manaar mosque which offered shelter to anyone affected in the aftermath of the Tower fire & has been providing support, services & a safe space for the community ever since.

Two years ago, London witnessed the horrific tragedy of the Tower fire. At the memorial service today we stood together to honour and remember those who lost their lives that night. We must ensure that it can never happen again.

Londoners will never forget the horror of the Tower fire. It claimed 72 lives and devastated a community. Two years on, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their loved ones, and the Grenfell community. Join us in observing 72 seconds of silence at 12pm.

On the eve of the second anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire, too many families are still living in temporary accommodation, and thousands of people are still living in homes with dangerous cladding. The Government must listen and step up its action.

Thank you to for organising today's Pan-London Youth Day. It’s only by empowering young people in this way that we can expect them to make the right choices in life. You can’t make the right choices if you don’t have the right opportunities.

Youth services like the ones on offer at Pan-London Youth Day are essential for keeping young Londoners on the right path. Events like today show how even despite devastating cuts from central Government, with the right support London’s youth can still have a bright future.
