the only country with represtaion in the UAE team during the Tour without them having a former champion of that country is Belgium, and Philipsen was the youngest rider in the race.

i just noticed that UAE's team in the Tour has former national champions of:
Ireland
Italy
Portugal
Colombia
Norway
and also former World champion and former European champion.
all of them are former champs! none current!
