I can only say I am a minority view in the UK Tory MEP delegation. But have never doubted for a minute what I try and do is both correct and very necessary given the fantasies entertained by most Brexiteers.

As a layman I believe the degree of lies and false promises as well as allegations of foreign interference and campaign overspend would seriously question the validity such a contract in any reputable court of law.

Of course it is a legitimate US concern that most NATO members are not spending the agreed 2% of GDP. However Trump seems to have a wider objection to multilateralism & binding international agreements which underpin the rules based global legal order which to me is more worrying
