Finishes, finishes, finishes!

12/01/2018

I'm taking advantage of a day off to catch up on some things.  I shipped my cards for WOCS and wanted to post some pictures of finished cards.  I got a Big Shot Embossing and Die Cutting machine earlier this year and am using it to enhance my cards.

These are pieces I stitched in 2017 and made into cards this year.

These cards are pieces I stitched this year.

I will be starting to assemble my remaining 21 cards for this year and will post when done!

Happy Stitching,

November Smalls SAL

12/01/2018

Wait, what, December 1?  Where did the year go?

I know I spent a portion of it stitching away, mainly on smalls.  Thanks to Heather at Stitching Lotus for sponsoring the Smalls SAL.

November was all about making sure I had enough Christmas cards stitched for both WOCS and personal use.  I also completed the third small wall hanging for my oldest son. The first picture below is the one I finished stitching and assembled this month and the second picture is all three of the pieces.  I have two more I want to make, but they will wait until 2019.

I still have 21 cards to assemble for personal use, but again the stitching is done!  This year I am donating 30 cards to WOCS and 25 cards to friends and family.  Not as many cards to WOCS as last year., but my stitching budget has been decreased so I had to cut back.

Year to date, I have finished 209 pieces out of 214 starts.
     1 from 2015
   29 from 2016
   29 from 2017
 150 from 2018

As we enter the crazy month of December, make sure to keep your focus on  the people in your life, not things.  Maybe make one less batch of cookies and spend a night playing cards or a game.

Hugs,
Michele

October wrap up

11/10/2018

I'm finally posting my October  and year to date progress.

I managed three more finishes on Halloween. October stitching wouldn't be complete with out a black cat!

The last of the Farmhouse Christmas series from Little House Needleworks.  I've enjoyed stitching this series, but will be glad to send it off to World of Charity Stitching so it can be made into a quilt.

And another cute reindeer by Daffy Cat.  Just a few more Christmas pieces to stitch and then I need to do some major card assembly.

Year to date...for those keeping track, I may have miscounted slightly in prior months.  The below numbers are accurate as of 10/31.

198 finishes out of 203 starts
         1 finish from a 2015 start
       29 finishes from 2016 starts
       28 finishes from 2017 starts
     140 finishes from 2018 starts

I'm going to attempt to finish the 5 unfinished starts from this year and then finish any new projects I start before starting another project.  I may not succeed as one of my 2018 starts is driving me crazy, to the point where I may just give up on it and throw it away.  And this would only be through the end of the year as I'll have a start a day again for Jan-March, 2019.

I also have about 50 Christmas pieces I need to turn into cards  and time is running out to get these done.

Happy Early Thanksgiving,
Michele

October Smalls SAL

10/31/2018

Happy Halloween everyone!
I'm a little late in posting my October Smalls Update.  I started a new job and am adjusting to different work hours.

Lots of finishes this month. starting with some Halloween cards for my boys.

A Lizzie Kate pattern that I started as part of StitchMaynia.
Beautiful giraffes, although the legs were tricky to stitch.  This will be a Christmas present for a friend that loves giraffes.

And a bunch of Christmas pieces, some of which will be used for cards.

I will post my October wrap up and I have one more piece I am going to try and finish yet tonight.

Hope you had lots of treats and no tricks.

Michele
