It’s not Micro Monday yet, but I can’t wait to point out that the photography of @robertbrook is gracing our timeline after a bit of a hiatus. I love his work.

It’s not Micro Monday but once again I just recommend @macgreg for the best-looking end-of-summer feast.
Related to the discussion of gendered language, in this iMore article I wrote, I talk about how the title Ms. seemed initially artificial and awkward. Even as a kid, I knew Miss and Mrs. were sexist. Things change, but sometimes very slowly.
I have done 11 out of the 17 things on this list.
17 things to do during a 12-hour layover at Portland International Airport | OregonLive.com
A couple times this past week, a speaker opened with “Hi guys!” Here’s a tip: why not just say “Hello” or “Hi everyone”?
Portland Micro Meetup during XOXO: Friday, Sept. 7, 5-7 at Von Eberts Brewing (131 NW 14th, Pearl District, www.vonebertbrewing.com). Open to all! Please reply if you think you’ll be able to come!
If you are coming to XOXO conf., join our #microblog channel on the Slack.
I posted the new episode of @theweeklyreview, That’s Too Devious, Jean a little late today. @jamesdempsey and I review strategies to deal with email meant for our doppelgängers around the world. Some of our ideas are not good ideas…
I’ve been working on NetNewsWire 5.0 all this time without knowing it!
Congrats to Brent Simmons on NetNewsWire’s return home. Evergreen will become NetNewsWire 5.0–that is very cool.
A lot of karaoke fun was had at 360iDev. Here is a list of songs!
Replying to @blankbaby’s Mastodon question: I’ve thought about this all day, but it’s still the most obvious answer for me: Captain Janeway. She’s a scientist, a scholar, and a fierce leader. She takes big risks and makes the hard decisions. My hero. #MyFavStarTrekCharacter 🖖
👉 “And Muting is also available on the web under Account, in the Timeline: section, Edit Muted Users button….”
Thanks, @smokey, for reminding me of this!
Preventing harassment is key to our mission here. We have community guidelines. We have tools in place to prevent harassment. And we are adding Mute and Report options, which are available now in the Mac app.
Feel free to email me if you ever have concerns: [email protected].

We had a nice Micro Meetup breakfast at 360iDev this week. Our 2nd Annual! Thanks @mitch, @f, @joec, @muncman, @conradstoll for coming and sharing your thoughts about Micro.blog with me.
Another epic karaoke get-together last night at #360iDev. @voiceboxkaraoke in Denver is fantastic. I was really happy to see all my pals from 1Password there too. 🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈✖️11!
Ha! @joec has included 4 photos of dogs so far in his #360iDev talk, so ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ already, 10 minutes into the presentation.
Landed in Denver after a hair-raising descent. Please save me some bourbon at 360iDev Stump! 😱🥃
It’s a special edition of Micro @monday: a Q&A with @manton, including such burning questions as “Does Manton ever sleep?” Check it out!
(And don’t forget to share your recommendations of people to follow. Micro Monday is the new and improved Follow Friday!)
The pressure in my ears is still a little out of whack since skydiving. I’m hoping this flight to Denver will straighten it out. 🛫🛬
A few of the dogs I’ve walked this year. #nationaldogday

Two more dogs I love, both rescues: my neighbor dog Goldie with her BFF, Dixie who was my dog until 2011. Dixie didn’t do well in the city, so with extreme reluctance, I found her a new home in the country. That broke my heart, even though it was the right thing to do.

Grace got a bit of attention from the guinea pig rescue staff for her vocal resistance to getting a mani-pedi today. twitter.com/Pdxguinea…
A united front of resistance on guinea pig spa day. We are overdue for nail trims, professionally done by the kind volunteers of @pdxguineapigs!

Apparently it is National Dog Day. I’d love to see the Micro.blog timeline full of dogs today! (This is one of my dog nieces, Zoë.)

It’s raining. Finally. Just the tiniest drizzle, but still. I’m so happy.
How to Make Homemade Gin in the Instant Pot
From the headline, I thought this would be bathtub gin for the 21st century. But–sigh–no. You still need vodka to make this gin.
