MORE THAN 2 million Californians were recently left without power after the state’s largest utility, Pacific Gas and Electric — which filed for bankruptcy earlier this year — preemptively shut down transmission lines in fear that they might spark fires during periods of high autumn winds.

Consumers blame the state for not cleaning up dead trees and brush, along with the utility companies for not updating their ossified equipment. The power companies in turn fault the state for so over-regulating utilities that they had no resources to modernize their grids.

Here is a video that I found, leading up to the vote, which shows scenes from Monday Night.

The vote actually happened in the early morning hours on Tuesday.

Mousing a hook

Several readers wanted to know what I meant about ‘mousing a hook’ when I captioned a post with it a little earlier today and Beaches was kind enough to dig up a video showing how it’s done – kinda sorta.
The video makes it look like a lot more work than is necessary. For one thing, it shows how to mouse it with an empty hook. Uh-uh. You mouse the hook after it’s attached to your load.
We always used baling wire when I was working on towers in the army. It’s a lot quicker and easier because you just make a couple quick wraps with the wire and then twist the ends around the middle portion to tighten it up and secure it. When you want to take the load off, you just whip out your handy bolt cutters and snip it off.

During an interview with Margaret Brennan of CSPAN, former CIA head John McLaughlin along with his successor John Brennan both basically admitted that there is a secretive cabal of people within US intelligence who are trying to ‘take Trump out’.

“Thank God for the ‘Deep State,’” McLaughlin crowed as liberals in the crowd cheered.

Accused Texas shooter released from custody

GREENVILLE, Texas — The man charged with capital murder in connection with a shooting that left two dead and 14 injured near Greenville, Texas, last month has been released after further investigation.

The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office requested Brandon Gonzales be released “due to the lack of cooperation from witnesses and discovery of exculpatory evidence during the course of the investigation,” according to a statement released by the sheriff’s office. It also asked that the district attorney’s office take no action on the man’s case.

Thanks to our Governor, yes, our very own Governor Newsom, this problem has been made much easier and more exciting. We now have a bill signed into law that may allow us to pick up “road kill.”

A city judge released two gun suspects without bail the day after they were separately accused of firing their illegal weapons in the street — and incredulous cops are outraged.

Warren: Ban ‘Deadly’ Firearm Suppressors

Democrat presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren’s overarching gun control plan includes a ban on firearm suppressors.
The plan is posted on her campaign page, where she pledges to “[prohibit] accessories that make weapons more deadly.”

She does not grapple with the fact that a suppressor has been used in only one mass shooting during the 21st century, the May 31, 2019, Virginia Beach attack, And even then, the New York Times reported witnesses heard the attacker’s gunshots as he moved through the building.
