Céline Spring

Jewelry Crush

The Céline Spring jewelry feels very personal and I’m a big fan. The marble disc and triple dot earrings are lovely.

Nili Lotan

Nili Lotan’s clothes have been on my radar for a few years, but I became a diehard fan after I spotted Kendall Conrad in the perfect sheath at a wedding last spring. I didn’t know much about the designer herself until I came across this piece on W. Pictures of Lotan’s Pre-Fall collection are on my inspiration board.

SS17 Campaign

Valentino

The Valentino SS17 campaign has dropped, it’s the first collection under Pierpaolo Piccioli as the solo creative director for the house. Photographer David Sims’s portraits are stunning–can’t go wrong with Christy and Liya.

On The Hunt For

Navy Crazy, Cont.

A few weeks ago I posted on my current love affair with navy. To date, I’ve bought just about everything in my new favorite color, except a bag. I put my name down for a Céline Trio in marine, but it’s been forever and hasn’t come in yet, so I’ve started looking at other options. I considered a Marni Bandoleer, the J.W. Anderson Pierce, and a Loewe Puzzle by J.W. Anderson too, but I’m still on the fence. Months ago I spotted an unbelievably chic young woman wearing a vintage, classic Hermès Constance, maybe it’s the way to go. Tbc…

On My Mind

Looking Back While Looking Forward

While reviewing SS17 show images, I got sidetracked after I stumbled across a pic on @simplicitycity. The runway shot inspired me to revisit some of my favorite Spring shows of all time. My tippy top fave is Marc’s SS99 collection for Louis Vuitton, I still have the white poncho. I started casting this show soon after– I was so in love with what Marc was doing. The Calvin Klein and Prada SS98/99 collections are close seconds. Hopefully Raf Simons will be inspired by this era of Calvin Klein collections, too…

On My Mind

Welcome, 2017!

I was very happy to welcome in 2017 last night, 2016 was not a banner year. My husband and I had a hyggelig evening at home, which was perfect after two weeks of what felt like perpetual motion.

Wishing my family, friends, and readers a very happy and healthy new year!

Beauty Assist

After seeing myself in a bunch of holiday snaps, I decided it’s time that I became a bit more makeup savvy. These kits from Charlotte Tilbury would be a good place to start considering that I already love her products–just wish she came with them for a tutorial…

Hygge

img_0430

Danish for getting cozy, hygge is my post-holidays goal. According to a piece in The New York Times, hygge is for Danes “a national manifesto, nay, an obsession expressed in the constant pursuit of homespun pleasures involving candlelight, fires, fuzzy knitted socks, porridge, coffee, cake and other people.”

After a month of Christmas prep, holiday dances, parties, two birthdays, trips, and visits with family, hygge-ing is how I want to recover. A few days in my PJs eating my husband’s homemade granola by the fire sounds amazing–bring it on!

Movie Day

untitled-122616

A movie after Christmas dinner is a family tradition. This year the consensus was to see “La La Land”, but it was sold out. Instead, we watched “Captain Fantastic” at home, which was even more fun. None of us had seen it and I wouldn’t let anyone read a synopsis beforehand–what a story. These three movies are on my to-see list and I’ll try to get one in today before we take off.

“Manchester By The Sea” is a raw, sad, and at times, funny film–Casey Affleck deserves an Oscar for his portrayal of a truly broken man.
