We feel that he was wrongly treated and we back him for the reasons he felt he needed to quit. We would like to see him back at KVPD because he is very efficient, organized, and professional at what he does. He also makes sure that everyone is constantly informed and does his best to continue to build programs at KVPD. We feel he should be rehired so that he can continue making KVPD a better organization for those involved now and in the future. Sam has also had a very positive influence on all the youth he has come in contact with at KVPD. He works well with all ages at KVPD and if he is rehired there is no doubt in my mind he will continue to do all of these things and more in the future. But I sincerely believe in music's power to heal, and with the possible exception of "Harry Hood," there hasn't been a Phish song in the fifteen years that I've been listening that's struck me quite as powerfully as "Mercury." So I was a bit surprised and a bit disappointed to see it left off the otherwise excellent&nbsp;Big Boat, but didn't think much of it beyond that initial reaction at first. Over time, though, it became clear to me that a&nbsp;lot&nbsp;of the band's fans were let down to not see the song on the album. In addition, the tenor of recently published interviews with the band suggested that perhaps even they were disappointed that it hadn't made the album. It got me thinking. Sure, we have soundboards of some excellent live versions of the song, but to have a "definitive" studio version of the song, with the polish of something like "Petrichor" would be even better. And if I could demonstrate a demand for such a version, which seems to have already been recorded and not just released, might Phish, a band known for spontaneous interactions with their fanbase, be willing to release it on the basis of that demand? So here's the question. If the band were to release a "Mercury" single on vinyl with a digital download included, would you be willing to pay $10 for it? Why vinyl? Well, it's hard to imagine them just dropping a single extra track onto iTunes for digital download for ninety-nine cents months after the album release. It makes far more sense to have a 10 inch or 12 inch single with "Mercury" on one side and maybe "Let's Go" and/or "Shade" on the other side. Then there would also be fun new packaging and all of that good stuff. Plus, for you non-vinyl fans, there would still be the digital download to enjoy. Maybe 1,000 signatures seems like a big goal, but I'm hoping that demonstrating that level of interest might result in the possibility of at least a small limited pressing. I should clarify that I'm just a fan of the music and don't have any connections to the band whatsoever, so this is just a shot in the dark. But if it might get the ball rolling on getting "Mercury" released, I'm willing to give it a shot. Thank you for your time. Male chicks are often ground up (using a conveyor belt or otherwise) or left to die due to their inability to produce eggs in certain farms. Veal calves are weighed down with heavy chains and left in almost pitch black conditions to ensure their meat is pale, attractive, and supple. These are only a few of the instances in which these practices violate more than just these animals' rights, but some kind of moral code.
