Frank Ocean Rips the Grammy Awards Producers a New One in Brutal Tumblr Post
4 hours ago
On Saturday, Frank Ocean posted a brutal Grammy Awards call-out on his personal Tumblr account. Writing directly to producers Ken Ehrlich and David Wild, the musician referenced his rocky performance at the 2013 Grammys, explained why he didn't submit his music for consideration this year, and even declared that Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly deserved to win album of the year instead of Taylor Swift's 1989. Rather than pull out choice quotes from the incendiary post, we've elected to embed it in full. http://frankocean.tumblr.com/post/157125310721/ok-ken-and-david-as-much-as-i-hate-to-make-you The post has already been reblogged more than 6,000 times on Tumblr, and Twitter also ignited shortly thereafter with shock. The question becomes, what on Earth set Frank Ocean off? Well, it turns out Ehrlich and Wild were guests on the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast this week, and they talked at length about Frank Ocean during the episode. Not only »

Denzel Washington: "Ease Is a Greater Threat to Progress Than Hardship"

#DenzelWashington Acceptance Speech for #Fences @tvonetv #imageawards pic.twitter.com/iWbqw0GRav - Joy105.com (@Joy105com) February 12, 2017 At Saturday night's NAACP Image Awards in La, Denzel Washington took home a best actor award for his moving performance in Fences. When he got up to accept the award, he gave an inspiring speech about working hard to achieve greatness. "If it were easy," he said, "there'd be no Denzel Washington." He also schooled his peers, saying, "fall down seven times, get up eight," and that "ease is a greater threat to progress than hardship." Washington has been having an especially memorable award season. At the SAG Awards in January, he won his very first Actor, and the pure shock on his face was one of the best moments of the night. The end of his NAACP speech perhaps puts it best: "keep moving, keep growing, keep learning. See you at work. »

Fifty Shades Darker: 28 Big Differences Between the Book and the Film
7 hours ago
This early Valentine's Day weekend, Fifty Shades Darker premiered in theaters nationwide. The second installment of the trilogy, the film is adapted from E L James's book of the same name. The erotic, romantic drama continues to explore the relationship between recent graduate, Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson), and billionaire entrepreneur, Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan). As if navigating their relationship wasn't complicated enough, a crazy ex-girlfriend and a sexually aggressive boss complicate things. Fortunately for fans, the film sticks closely to the plot of the book, featuring a luxurious lifestyle and elaborate gifts, witty banter and demanding behavior (on Christian's end anyway), and, of course, lots and lots of sex. However, it does stray from the books in a few ways. Some small differences include less domineering and possessive behavior from Christian (yes, that's actually possible), the absence of email and text exchanges (which were frequent in the first film, »

Why You Recognize the Star of the New Horror Film Get Out
8 hours ago
Image Source: Universal Pictures In October, we got introduced to a terrifying new horror movie by Jordan Peele. It's called Get Out, and the creepy trailer is enough on its own to turn you off of white suburbia for good. But there's something else. The more time we spent watching the trailer and looking forward to the film, the more we began to feel like star Daniel Kaluuya looked very, very familiar. And then, it clicked! Kaluuya actually appears in the first season of Black Mirror. He stars in the second episode, called "Fifteen Million Merits." The story tells of a futuristic dystopian society that revolves around 24-hour TV and the shallow entertainment of reality shows. In this world, civilians must cycle to power the society, earning a kind of currency known as Merits. We don't want to give too much away, but you might argue that it's a different »

42 Reasons It's Ok to Be Attracted to Jamie Dornan When He Plays Total Psychos
10 February 2017 5:15 PM, PST
There's a reason Jamie Dornan is everyone's favorite Irishman, no matter how many creepy hotties he plays. After small roles in films and on TV (like Once Upon a Time), Dornan scored his breakout part on the Irish crime drama The Fall. If you've watched any of the two seasons on Netflix, you know that he plays Paul Spector, a dedicated family man who happens to get his rocks off by brutalizing young women at night. After he was selected to play Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, we found out that while his character may have some kinks, he's no killer. Still, both Paul and Christian manage to be heart-stoppingly sexy, despite being borderline disturbing - full-on disturbing, in Paul's case. In honor Fifty Shades Darker, here are all the times Dornan's characters are both somewhat terrifying and ridiculously hot at the same time. Pro tip: you can »

9 Places You've Seen Dakota Johnson (Other Than the Fifty Shades Movies)
10 February 2017 3:30 PM, PST
At this point, there's no doubt that Dakota Johnson's most famous role is Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades movies. She signed up to be forever associated with the franchise when she first starred in Fifty Shades of Grey, and now that Fifty Shades Darker has arrived, she's back in Ana mode. Having said that, it's not the only place you've seen her. Johnson has been starring in movies for over a decade. In fact, her very first onscreen appearance was a role alongside her mother, Melanie Griffith, in 1999's Crazy in Alabama. She took a break (to grow up and stuff) and returned to acting 11 years later. Here are nine places you may have seen her non-bdsm-related work! »

Allison Williams on the Final Season of Girls: "It'll Feel Ok to Say Goodbye"
10 February 2017 2:55 PM, PST
This weekend, the final season of Girls will premiere. To say we're getting emotional about the show's end would certainly be an understatement, and if Allison Williams's farewell Instagram from the Fall is any indication, the cast is just as wrecked as we are. Speaking of Allison Williams, we recently hopped on the phone with the actress to talk about her new horror movie, Get Out. Of course, we couldn't resist asking Williams about Girls and what's in store for us once we hit this last batch of episodes. "God, I don't want it to end," Williams sighed. "Even though it's definitely time. Like objectively, it's time. I think people will not be shocked that it's not the tidiest. It's not tied up with a bow. We don't have all the answers. But I think Lena has left it so that people have some notion of where they're all going. »

Looking over the 2017 Grammy nominees, you'll see names like Adele, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Sia, and Ariana Grande. Then, there's Sturgill Simpson. While he's well-known in the country genre, he's not a household name - yet. Not only is he going up against Adele, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, and Drake for album of the year (in addition to country album of the year), he's the musical guest on Saturday Night Live this weekend. That said, it's time to get to know the singer! While Kentucky-born Simpson formed his first band, Sunday Valley, in 2004, he gained critical attention with his solo album, High Top Mountain, released in 2013. His second album, 2014's Metamodern Sounds in Country Music, did even better, peaking at No. 11 on Billboard's Top Country Albums list. A Sailor's Guide to Earth, the album that earned Simpson his Grammy nomination, was released in April and has been climbing the charts. One of »
