I LOVE this book, and only now in "my prime" have I even heard or read the story. Never saw any movies or TV. Had no idea this magical world existed. Happy to see my Swedish friend loves it too. Great fan-tabulous review!

I read the entire series. Couldn't get enough of Gilbert. Wish he got more scenes across the series, but there are some.

I have been watching YOU TUBE video clips of Anne and Gilbert scenes. This is a beautiful collection of special moments between A and G.
I can tell that the movies were only partially true to the series. For example, Gilbert never said, "I hope he breaks your heart" to Anne, and he never went to war. The scene with the soldier home from war would be from the last book in the series, called Rilla of Ingleside. The redheaded girl would be Anne's daughter Marilla (Rilla) and the soldier would be her fiancé Kenneth Ford. Gilbert became a doctor in a harbor town one hour away from Green Gables / Avonlea.
