It’s approximately $58 USD or €53 Euros, or $71 USD or €65 EUR if you’d like us to send you a printed sewing pattern in the mail. These numbers are correct at the time of writing – please check an online currency converter if you’d like the exact price at current exchange rates.

That’s up to you! The course is broken down into manageable, bitesize lessons that you can take at a pace that suits you. It includes thirteen succinct videos, from 3 to 35 minutes long (we don’t include the boring bits!), plus extra written tuition and downloadable checklists. You may like to spread the lessons out over ten evenings, or set aside a weekend for a binge sewing session.

No deadline – you can go as fast or as slow as you like, and come back to the lessons whenever you want. Just log in to the site anytime you feel like a sewing fix! We can’t promise “lifetime access”, you know, in case of a digital apocalypse or something, but we don’t plan to take the content down any time soon. If for any reason we do decide to take the workshop down in the future, we’ll give you a few months’ notice, so you’ll have plenty of time to finish it.

The workshop is suitable for people who are comfortable using a sewing machine and have made a few things before. If you’re a complete beginner, we recommend our Make Friends with a Sewing Machine workshop and Learn to Sew Skirts workshop instead.

This is a specially structured course developed by an experienced course designer. It takes you step-by-step through how to make a dress from start to finish, with tips and tricks for all the techniques, from inserting an invisible zip to setting in sleeves and making a kick pleat. It’s like attending a sewing class, but it’s cheaper and you can do it from home!

The pattern includes eight sizes – from a UK 6 to 20, US 2 to 16, EUR 34 to 48. Take a look at our measurements chart.

The PDF version of the Etta sewing pattern is included in the course materials for you to download, print and assemble at home immediately.

Factoring in processing and delivery, UK participants should receive their pattern in the post within 2 to 4 working days, EU participants within 5 to 10 working days, the rest of the world within 7 to 12 working days. (Sometimes international delivery can take longer depending on different countries’ post and customs service, so please be patient…)

There’s a discussion area in many of the lessons, where you can ask questions, share photos of what you’re making, and chat to other enthusiastic stitchers.
