Katharine McGee, NYT Bestselling Author of AMERICAN ROYALS, To Publish New Historical Romance Duology

Random House Books for Young Readers will publish A QUEEN’S GAME by bestselling author Katharine McGee, the first in a two-book series. The news was announced by Mallory Loehr, EVP & Publisher, Random House Books for Young Readers. McGee’s longtime editor, Caroline Abbey, Associate Publisher, Random House Books for Young Readers, acquired rights and will edit the duology. It will publish on October 1, 2024 with a first printing of 100,000 copies.
Penguin Publishing Group Partners with BLK Book Swap!

On Sunday February 18th, Penguin Publishing Group partnered with BLK Book Swap, a grassroots organization amplifying Black literature, to lead a book swap event in celebration of Black History Month! Sunday’s swap was held at Aunts et Uncles, a Black-owned vegan cafe and concept shop in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Over sixty book lovers poured in to trade books and discover their next reads.

George Kantor Promoted to Vice President, Strategic Projects Group

I am pleased to announce that George Kantor has been promoted to Vice President, Strategic Projects Group, effective immediately, continuing to report to me.
Prior to coming to Penguin Random House, George and I worked together at Viacom/MTV Networks and in 2013, when the PRH merger was announced, I knew George would be a wonderful addition to the Strategic Projects Group. He quickly became one of our key resources for critical systems integration work and indispensable to the team. That was 11 years ago, and I would venture to say that all who know him would find it hard to imagine PRH without George.

Delacorte Romance Launching with "A Summer of Love" Campaign

Delacorte Press will launch Delacorte Romance, a new imprint dedicated to publishing romance novels for teen readers, led by Wendy Loggia, VP, Senior Executive Editor, Delacorte Press. The news was announced today by Barbara Marcus, President & Publisher, Random House Children’s Books. Delacorte Romance will publish love stories for teens featuring the tropes, themes, and authentic depictions of young love that romance readers crave, in an accessible paperback format. The inaugural list, launching in Summer 2024, will feature five titles, with twelve books slated to be published annually beginning in 2025.

The Audie Awards® is the premier awards program in the United States recognizing distinction in audiobooks and spoken-word entertainment. Publishers and rights holders enter titles in various categories for recognition of achievement. Finalists are selected, and then one winner is awarded in each category at the Audies Gala.

Mystery lovers, rejoice! Mystery Writers of America has announced the 2024 Edgar Allan Poe Awards nominees and eleven Penguin Random House titles are recognized across six categories. The Edgar Awards, or “Edgars,” as they are commonly known, are named after MWA’s patron saint Edgar Allan Poe and are presented to authors of distinguished work in various categories. They honor the best in mystery fiction, nonfiction and television published or produced in 2023.
Honoring International Holocaust Remembrance Day

On Saturday, January 27, we honor International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The date was chosen by the United Nations to commemorate victims of the Holocaust during World War II. Six million Jews were murdered by Germany’s Nazi regime, along with 5 million non-Jews. Marked each year since 2005, the date coincides with the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp in Poland by the Soviet Red Army in 1945. One million people died there. Penguin Random House Publisher Services (PRHPS) announced on January 23, 2024, a multi-year sales and distribution agreement with Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group (WWBG), the publishing company encompassing the diverse fiction imprints of Wattpad Books, W by Wattpad Books, and Frayed Pages x Wattpad Books, plus the electrifying graphic novels of WEBTOON Unscrolled. Beginning September 1, 2024, PRHPS will sell and distribute the entire WWBG frontlist and backlist across all sales channels worldwide.
