I love the University of Richmond and I am so happy that it is my alma mater. I would recommend this university to anyone who appreciates academic rigor and caring professors.

Excellent University I enjoyed in late 60s. It's funny that now, retired, when I'm asked about where I went to school I am proud to say UR. Most of the time, people react with respect for the University's Academic and Athletic programs.

I have been attending summer programs since 2011. The staff is amazing and the friendships that have been made are rewarding.

Richmond is a fantastic University and I feel incredibly privileged to have been able to get my degree there. The level of education is incredible, the student ...body is diverse and fun, and social life was always a great balance to studies and athletics. I made friends all over the world and we still cherish our time together at UR. I loved the small classes and the beautiful campus. Proud to be a Spider for life! הצג עוד

Over the last few years, I have become increasingly and increasingly disgusted to be associated with UR. Although, I completely enjoyed by my experience there (...2009-2013) and value my great education, I am overwhelming disappointed at how other students have been treated... specifically when it comes to sexual assault. Richmond needs to hold itself at a higher standard, bad press be damned. You need to own up to your mistreatment of those who depend on you to provide a safe environment to learn in. My opinion of UR started to change when a couple years after I graduated, I received an update email from UR police stating that several sexual assaults had been reported the weekend before classes even started. Before these students could even embark on their educational journey, they were burdened by one of the most terrible experiences a human could face. Now, after reading the recent Richmond Times article about the Cecelia Carreras case, I am done supporting you. You may be my alma mater, but I am ashamed. הצג עוד

Excellent academics, competitive athletics, and one of the safest and most beautiful places in the Richmond metro area. A true Virginia treasure. Go Spiders!

UR page discriminates against reporting student successes, achievements, and activities on account of their beliefs and religion. UR cherry-picks what it report...s about campus life and activities at the expense of its own students. It shouldn't be surprising, the school has a history of discrimination and ignoring students #EndDiscriminationNow הצג עוד

In a world full of modernity rapidly whizzing away, U of R is one of those few, slow autumn evening places where the sun sets, then pauses in that Virginian warmth particular to memory. One of those places that teaches you more than you perhaps ever end up realizing.

This school is a gross example of how NOT to treat student victims of sexual assault. Admin should focus on hiring people who care about their students and not covering up for rapists on campus.

I am Theophilus Poku Brefo from Ghana, sub Saharan Africa. I have been watching videos about University of Richmond. I can't wait to be admitted. It is a very m...ighty university. I have loved the way the community is so engaging and students are very friendly. This is the type of university I have been dreaming of. Can't wait to be part of the Spiders' community. It even deserves more than 5 stars. #Spiders!!! הצג עוד

I had a great experience at UR. Intimate classes, caring educators. Socially, it was a bit small. Everyone knew everyone, or knew of everyone. Surprised to hear some had bad experiences. I may have left if I didn't like it.

Shout out to the security folks that helped me find my car after the ARLO concert last night. I exited out a different door and immediately got lost. This was m...y first visit to the campus and it was at night. Wandered around different streets and parking lots for 45 minutes. Only bad thing is that I did not see any campus security at all. I tried to flag down a campus bus but he drove right by me. Asked a student if the campus had security and he said he didn't know. Finally found the Arts building open and called 911 who immediately connected me to U of R security. They were WONDERFUL! Very calming and were able to locate me within 5 minutes and then from a sketchy description of where I thought my car was, they immediately knew where it was and took me right to it. Thank you so much. The girl and guy were so polite and very nice. הצג עוד

Loved UR (W74-78), great folks, lovely campus, fun teams (lacrosse & track/cross country with the boys!), plus a great education that gave me the confidence to become an AF officer at the age of 22. Really miss my old roomies, Betty & Laura...can't find you on FB!!

I just read your email Mr. Crutcher and I say "Not good enough". Even the title rankled me! "An Important Message To Families" addressing the sexual assault f...ears at the University of Richmond. This matter is URGENT, it is CRITICAL. This matter is not just significant, it requires immediate action, and ALL of our attention and resources. You still have a situation where at least 2 women were sexually assaulted and the perpetrator(s) may still be walking around campus. Our children are vulnerable!! What are you doing to immediately address THAT?! And I don't mean just restricting him/ their movements to a few areas of the campus! He/ they has/ have committed a violent act against a woman's person!

Again, I ask you to think of your daughter Mr. Crutcher. How would YOU and your wife want the situation handled if your daughter was the person assaulted? If YOUR daughter was the one told, "I thought it was reasonable for him to penetrate you for a few more minutes if he was going to finish." What would you do? Those words that were spoken, point to a mindset that some people (women or men) are others playthings, there for their enjoyment and amusement, whether they want that or not.

The University of Richmond resides in a notorious "Good Old Boys" area. The institution is elitist (as an aside, why you would have ANY student pay over $100 for a surge protector?) and it has a Division I sports team that brings the institution acclaim and money. All of these facts cause me to be wary. Those points lead me to think that money and looking good matter more to you and the establishment, than students safety, especially WOMEN'S safety. I think that until we shine light on the pervasiveness of the situation, UR is prepared to sacrifice the few that come forward.

I want to see more hardline actions. The student who admitted to CC's sexual assault should be expelled. Any student who has committed such a heinous act, should be expelled and with the Universities FULL cooperation PROSECUTED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW. Those are the only actions that will satisfy me, and any parent I believe, who is motivated by integrity and honor, not looking good and protecting their interests.

I also believe just like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, in his Time article called "campus sexual assault athletes yes means yes", that any school official who doesn't do their job thoroughly investigating reports of sexual abuse, should be fired, prosecuted and the school they represent sued. So Dean Fabian, who uttered those demented words, should be treated as an abettor and dealt with accordingly.

These are the ONLY actions that I think honor and bring justice for ANY victim of sexual assault.

#SpiderSpotting continues this week at LUMSA University in Rome! University of Richmond President Crutcher addressed the opening plenary session at the Council of Europe’s Global Forum on “Higher Education for Diversity, Social Inclusion, and Community: A Democratic Imperative." His remarks provided a brief history of how critical an educated electorate is to democratic societies and affirmed America’s commitment to education.

Not everything is bigger in Texas. We check in with the Knight family after their twins arrived and settled into the family's tiny home.

“It’s all about keeping a healthy body. I don’t practice to repeat something. I practice to figure out what my dad is saying. ”

When #URichmond golfer Elsa Diaz practices her swing, she’s thinking about her dad, a chiropractor. Years of treating patients with golf injuries has given him a lot of well-informed, highly technique-oriented ideas about how to swing a golf club properly, so he’s also his daughter’s swing coach.

Elsa Diaz credits her father, a chiropractor, for the technical aspects of her swing. “He’s never wrong,” she said.
