Guest Post: Kidnapped Jewish Teens and Search and Rescue

כ' לחודש השלישי תשע"ד

Pray for the kidnapped teens....

Yekutiel Ben-Ya'akov

There is unprecedented unity in Israel as millions pray for the immediate release and safety of the three Jewish teens who were abducted by Arab terrorists from Gush Etzyon.

There are many lessons to learn from this incident. As long as we allow our enemies to live amongst us they will continue to plot against us. The IDF continues to blame police for their inexcusable late response, only many hours, after they received notice from one of the boys that he was kidnapped. The police actually received notification minutes after the abduction. However, the GSS (Shabba"k) and IDF were only tipped off by police many crucial hours later.

We warned the Knesset State Controller's Committee, 4 months ago, Feb. 18th when I was asked to testify before a special Committee convened to investigate police treatment of missing people searches. My first words to the Committee were about the extreme delay in police response to missing people reports and how the police commence searching far too late, losing vital and critical time that could translate into life or death for the missing subject.

See page 5 of that Knesset Committee transcript.

We have offered our services to the Commander of the Missing Persons Unit in the army and we may yet be called in to help in the search with the use of our specially trained dogs.

Canine training this week tomorrow in Beth Shemesh at 3 PM, Tapuach at 6 PM, Leshem at 9.30 PM (Call for days)

Thursday special SAR training on rubble sight at 7 PM

Our Israeli Dog Unit is in need of more volunteers and in need of finding to maintain our canine units.

Esser Agaroth (2¢):
I was recently informed that it was the Israeli Police which delayed passing the information onto to the IDF and to the GSS. Apparently, the police actually received a call from one of the abducted boys saying that they were being kidnapped.

And, by the way, did anyone think that the kidnappers had to have stolen an orange, Israeli license plate to replace their green, "P" license plate, in order to disguise their car??

Curiouser and curiouser...

It would be very interesting, indeed, if the Shabba"k came up as the heroes of the hour, successfully rescuing these boys, the same Shabba"k, albeit a different "Jewish" department, feared by so many settlers. Perhaps they will then be convinced that they need the Shabba"k in their lives.

Naftali Bennet The Nationalist? Why Is Everyone Still Fooled?

כ"ט לחודש השני תשע"ג

If Bennett is a "nationalist," then I'm a leftist.

Economics:
Naftali "Where's my kippah?" Bennett
Life In Israel's Quote of the Day - May 7, 2013
According to the World Bank, Israel was ranked a pitiful 139th in ease of obtaining building permits, behind Algeria, Togo, the Palestinian Authority and Syria. Under Assad it takes 104 days to get a building permit. For us it’s 212. Listen, friends, if I were in your shoes, I’d consider moving my business to Damascus. Whereas the average OECD country has 12 different kinds of taxes to account for and pay each year, in Israeli the number is 33.

Only friarim (suckers) would keep jumping through the hoops businesses had to jump through just to survive, and still be put in the same categories as tycoons. Small and medium businesses are not tycoons, they’re the value producers of the state of Israel. There are 700 criminal offenses in the environmental field. Why do we put this on small and medium businesses?

I see myself as the plumber who is willing to stick his hands into places other people refused to in order to clear up the blocks.
-- Minister of Commerce Naftali Bennett

Esser Agaroth (2¢):
What about all of the Arabs who don't bother trying to get building permits? They just build.

Why does Naftali Bennett even mention the "Palestinian Authority" as if it is a real and legitimate country? It is not. But, it has power, partly because Naftali Bennett gives it power.

What about the building permits obtained 13 years ago by the Jews in the town of Beth-El for the Ulpana Neighborhood? The previous government, led by your current fearless leader Binyamin Netanyahu, had them torn down anyway. Building permits did not seem to do the residents of Beth-El too much good, did they?

18 "In that day the Lord made a covenant with Avram, saying: 'To your seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates.' 19 the Kenite, and the Kenizzite, and the Kadmonite, 20 and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Rephaim, 21 and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Girgashite, and the Jebusite.'" - Genesis 15:18-21
Move your business to Damascus? HA HA! I assume that Bennett is making some sort of sick joke. Jews are not supposed to live in Damascus (Can you find it on the map?),...at least not until HaShem grants it to us. Jews are supposed to live in Israel. Damascus is not yet part of Israel. Gee whiz!  I'll bet THAT vision is way beyond Bennett's "nationalism." Why even the Likud Party platform at one time included the understanding that Israel extended beyond the "West Bank" onto the "East Bank" of the Jordan River as well.

There are 700 criminal offenses in the environmental field? What about all of the the environmental offenses committed by Arabs in Yehudah and the Shomron, from the burning of trash to the foul water treatment?

The plumber who is willing to stick his hands into places other people refused to? If there were more Jewish plumbers, ditch diggers, etc., then there would be less jobs available to Arabs, including the Arabs who are allowed to cross over from the "Palestinian" Authority to work in Israel. What exactly is Naftali Bennet the "nationalist" doing about Israel's economy supporting our those who want to destroy us, and take ALL of our Land?

Of course, the Ashkenazi elitist, Labor Zionists, the ones who are really calling the shots in Israel, have successfully convinced everyone that a manual laborer is someone to look down upon. American Jews, does that sound familiar? It should. Doctor, Lawyer, Broker, Loser.

Who's Land is it anyway?

The Bennett Plan vs. The Oslo (Death) Accords
What's the difference? Not a whole hell of a lot.

The Techiya Party's plan to keep Yehudah and the Shomron (Judea and Samaria), but "Heaven forbid!" throw out the Arabs was not even as pitiful as Prime Minister Ehud Baraq's begging of Arafat to accept 93% of Yehudah, Shomron, Azza (Gaza).

I defy anyone to tell me that Bennett's plan is much better. It is even much worse than former Moledeth Party leader Rabbi Benny Elon's "Autonomous Regions" Plan.

PA "President" Mahmud Abbas (Abu Mazen) and his vision of "Palestine."

Gee. I wonder if Naftali Bennet has consider the "Abbas Plan?" He wants it all. Don't you?

But, there can only be one plan: The Torah Plan.

Bennett's Western, democratic negotiation tactics of "let's do the best we can, take what we can, and call it a victory" is counter to Torah negotiation tactics.

In Torah, there isn't any game playing. All of Eretz Yisra'el is ours. All of it was given to Am Yisra'el by The Holy One, Blessed Be He.

Eretz Yisra'el is not for Naftali Bennet to hack it up, nor for PM Netanyahu to negotiate it away, nor for Shimon Peres nor Yossi Beilin to sign it away in illegal, secret meetings in Europe.

Israeli passports are not for Naftali Bennet to hand out freely. Neither is it for him to decide which Arabs on which pieces of Israel will be Israeli citizens, and which ones will not.

True, the Arabs divide themselves apart. Some came from Syria and Lebanon, others from Jordan and Egypt. Nonetheless, the Jerusalem Arabs who curse out the Hevron Arabs for being especially stupid, and the Shchem clans battling the Jenin clans, all claim to be of one nation,...at least while the news and documentary cameras are rolling. So, it is not for Naftali Bennet to differentiate between this Arab and that Arab, for the Arabs have already done so themselves.

The truth is that as far as Jews are concerned, there is no difference between an Arab from Amman and an Arab from Ramallah,...or from Nazareth.

Ever heard of Gerei Toshav? Ever heard of their requirements, such as not murdering, not committing sexual aberrations, and giving up false beliefs in false religions, and proving such acceptance of said conditions before a Beth HaDin, during the time when the misswoth involved with Yovel are incumbent upon us?

Apparently not.

Haredi Integration Into The IDF:

Sound like a good idea? Sure why not. After all, why should some Jews send their children off to risk their lives to protect Israel's borders (when they're not busy throwing Jews out of their homes and handing Jewish, God-given lands over to the Arabs who want to wipe us out), and other Jews be exempt?

I have said, time and time again, that the secular, Labor Zionists, and certainly the ultra-Leftists do not want Haredim in the IDF. They do not want three minyanim (prayer groups) per day, high levels of kashruth standards, and proper military Shabbath observance.

They do not want their sons to see Haredi soldiers put on tefillin, become curious, and then ask if they could try.

They certainly do not want their sons to see Haredi soldiers learning Torah, become curious, and then start asking questions. They might actually receive the reasonable answers that they could never get from th.eir parents

Nor do they want their sons and daughters to be influenced by the protests which will invariably be initiated Haredi soldiers over being forced to attend concerts with women singing and dancing.

OK, so finally the K'nesseth has woken up to the brilliant, but evil, plan to take the Haredim in slowly, a little bit at a time. They will be much easier to brainwash and indoctrinate into harmless "religious nationalists" undying State loyalists, whose bark is much worse than their bite.

This is "Shiksa."
Her bark is worse than her bite.
But, at least she knows the right people to bite.
And so, Minister Bennett, with regard to "Haredi integration into the IDF," good luck. I thik you will need it. Because I sincerely believe that it will backfire, and we may actually end up something close to a truly Jewish army.

So, are you all upset that I am calling out Minister Naftali Bennett, by saying that is not a nationalist?

That's OK, because with the possible exception of with one or two Members of K'nesseth, I do not believe that there are any nationalists in the K'nesseth,...at least not Jewish ones anyway.

MK Michal Roisin Is Not A Nice Person

כ"א לחודש השני תשע"ג

The following translation/summary of  is from the Life In Israel Blog's Headline Of The Day, April 30, 2013.

MK Roisin: Why relate to the terror attack?
Arutz 7 (Hebrew)

At the opening of the Knesset committee meeting today dealing with the Women of the Wall issue, Chairwoman MK Miri Regev (Likud) opened with an expression of shock and sorrow regarding the terror attack this morning in which one Jew was killed at the Tapuach Junction in the Shomron and expressed her condolences to the family.

MK Michal Roisin (Meretz) asked why she needs to relate to the terror attack that happened earlier in the day, as it seemingly has nothing to do with the topic under discussion.

Esser Agaroth (2¢):
Gee, I wonder if she would have said the same thing, if the murder victim had been an Arab, or a foreign worker, or a nun?

I sincerely doubt it.

"Shiksa"
MK Michal Roisin, I would like you to meet Shiksa. And, although Shiksa is female, no, I do not intend to call you the name you might think I would call you.

After all, it IS against Israeli law to call a government official a name. And, I wouldn't want to break Israeli law, would I?

As far as I know, this law has not been repealed, and is still on the books. However, it has been criticized by some Israeli judges. Of course, my guess is that if the "name-calling" found favor in the eyes of those truly in charge of what goes on in Israel, it would be allowed to slide. Of course, that is only speculation on my part.  Nevertheless, so much for "democratic free speech," huh?!

But, I digress....

Other than being female, I can think of at least one other attribute you have in common.

However, MK Roisin, I would never think of comparing you to Shiksa. You see, there is much too much that you and Shiksa do not have in common, in order to place the two of you on the same level.

Shiksa cares about Jews.

Shiksa cares about Jews, no matter where they live.

Shiksa's job is to protect Jews. Well, in theory, that is also the job of MK's, but...whatever.

Shika protected and cared about me, while I was helping to raise her, and living in K'far Tapu'ah, part of the Land of Israel. See Joshua, Chapters 12, 16, and 17 for starters, if you don't believe me.

Shiksa even barked at people, I didn't like. I kid you not. It was uncanny! Gee, I wonder if you she would bark at you, MK Roisin?

Let's see... What else? Oh, yes!

Shiksa continues to protect Jews (in an undisclosed location). Who do you continue to protect? Arabs who want to kill us, even you? The "democratic rights" of those who to have promiscuous sex with multiple partners? The children of foreign workers, perhaps, the next stage in Israel's "de-Jewification?" What about the "freedom of religious expression," for everyone, BUT Torah-observant Jews?

Do tell. Inquiring minds want to know what else you do NOT have in common with Shiksa?

As to that name, you thought I was going to call you, I would never want to call of Bath-Yisr'ael such a name. But, the more I think about it, the more I tend to believe that you might not be such a woman.

Incidentally, Shiksa is from the Hebrew word שקץ/sheqetz. Look it up, why don't you?

Yet, in Yiddish, it is used to indicate a non-Jewish woman. So, now, I am thinking that maybe you and Shiksa DO have something else in common, after all.

Now, before I let you go, MK Roisin, I want you to look into this man, this Jew's eyes.

Evyatar Borovsky, HY"D
Yitzhar, Israel
The murderer of this Jew, kill him for one reason, and one reason alone. He was Jewish.

The murderer of this Jew made his wife a widow, and his five children orphans.

However, I believe very strongly that the murderer of this Jew is not the only was responsible for the murder of this Jew

This Jew has a name. This Jew's name is Evyatar Borovsky.

MK ROISIN, DO NOT FORGET THIS JEW'S NAME, NOR HIS FACE, WHOSE MURDER YOU JUST BRUSHED ASIDE BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T FEEL IT WAS RELEVANT TO THE DISCUSSION!

"Jews" like you disgust me.

(*Shabba"k and Israeli Police, please note that not at ANY time did I call MK Roisin a nasty name. Thank-you.)

So, how does MK Roisin rate, using the new, Esser Agaroth (2¢) rating system?

MK Roisin doesn't get a rating. She is below ALL ratings, she is low. Sro, until I can come up with a system appropriate for the likes of her, I will give her the proverbial...

0
It works in English and in Hebrew.

MK Roisin, you are not a nice person,...and that insult being NICE about it.

Help Needed In The Search For Shlomo Ariel!

5 of the First Month 5772

הגרסה בעברית נמצאת למטה

Search continues for Shlomi Ariel – we need your help!

The following letter is being sent by “Mike” Yekutiel Ben Yaakov, Commander of the Israeli Fire Dept. Canine Search and Rescue unit, known as Y.A.L.A.M, kalbanim Yosh.:

HELP NEEDED IN THE SEARCH FOR SHLOMO ARIEL

Attached you will find an article and a notice about the search for Shlomo Ariel of Yehud, who went missing near the Koach Intersection, some 7 kilometers East of his home.

Shlomi was last seen, Friday, 11 days ago, walking in a disoriented fashion, without shoes and without a shirt or jacket in the general direction of Rantis, an Arab village on the border of the “Greenline.” He was last seen approximately 3 kilometers from the “border fence”, in a military firing-zone, after climbing into the zone from Highway 6, not far from the Koach Intersection.

Shortly after he was last spotted, there was a rain storm.

He was never seen again.

Our unit was called in to search for him as was the Oketz unit, police and many volunteers, family and friends. Unfortunately, due to the fact that Shlomi went missing in a military firing zone, much of the searches have been called off and on due to military training and firing.

We have arranged for a two day search this coming Friday and Shabbat, and the area will be open for searching without interruption from Friday morning until Sat night (See below for rabbinic ruling).

We have also arranged to fly in two rescue experts from Holland who will be aiding us in the search and who will be bringing two additional SAR and Cadaver dogs to join us and our 4 SAR dogs.

We desperately need additional volunteers when we sweep the area, so as to cover the entire firing zone if necessary, because we may not have another opportunity to shut down the firing zone, and because every day that passes, reduces the chances of finding Shlomie alive.

Various Torah scholars including Rabbi Dov Lior have ruled that we are allowed to search on Shabbat if there is any chance that Shlomie may still be alive.

If you are able to volunteer and to forward this letter to additional people who might be able to volunteer in the search efforts, please do so and let us know if you can come.

We will be meeting Friday morning at the Koach Hill Junction, near the Cola Forest, off of highway 444 at 5:00 AM sharp Friday morning, the intersection is between Shoham and Elad. Let us know in advance if you are coming and if you can stay all day until 1 hour before Shabbat. Also let us know if you can join us again at 5 AM on Shabbat morning, in the event that Shlomie is not found sooner.

Bring, backpack, sandwiches, water, boots, flashlight, raincoat and anything else you would need and call us to confirm 0544876709 – leave message if nobody answers and email back to [email protected]

Funds are also needed:

If you are in a position to help sponsor the flights of the experts, dogs and other expenses connected to the search please contact me, as we need help to cover our expenses. We are all volunteers and we are all brothers and sisters of Shlomie Ariel. Thus, we will continue to do whatever we can to rescue and find him as we would all expect fellow Jews to do on our behalf if we were G-d forbid in his predicament.

I can also be reached on my U.S. line 718 734 4686 or leave a message.

Funds to help sponsor this search mission, future rescue missions and our volunteer Search and Rescue Unit can be sent to LAchichah Ulireyacha POBox 6592 Jerusalem, Israel

A Jewish Rambo?

Tu b'Shevat 5772

The following article is well-worth posting in its entirety, so I am. But, first, here are a few comments.

I am not sure I would call David Stern a "Rambo." He's too nice.

Actually, even though we were neighbors for a while in K'far Tapu'ah, we never got to know each other.

Not only is David an expert in martial arts, and provide an important an much needed service in the Shomron (Samaria), but has also provided survivalist courses. I regret having missed his course, but was inspired to learn a bit with one of his friends. Those Jews not already familiar with their surrounds, know which plants are edible, where the natural sources of water are, and how to manage without electricity, are encouraged to learn about these and other survivalist topics.

Don't think that the food riots in Egypt and parts of Asia "couldn't happen here." They could. The Powers That Be, Iran, and are only three unpredictable variables at play here.

Do not underestimate our hostile next door neighbors either. While living in K'far Tapu'ah without a firearm, I would mentally prepare myself every Erev Shabbath. My weekly routine would include reviewing the potential, defensive weapons found around the house: hot water on the plata, kitchen knives, various cleaning agents,...you know, just in case. I felt pretty safe with our Belgian Shepherd in the house. Still, you never know. Better safe than sorry.

Be prepared. Hmm... Isn't that a motto of the Untied States Marine Corps?

Here's the article about David Stern.

YNET: Itamar's Very Own Rambo

In US David Stern was Marine who taught other officers martial arts, now he shares his skills with children in Itamar settlement. 'When children feel disconnected, this is a way to reconnect them,' he says

Tamar Trabelsi-Hadad
January 29, 2012

Few of David Stern's students in Itamar and in the center for boys who dropped out of haredi yeshivas know that their teacher was once in the US Marine Corps.

Stern, a 31-year-old martial arts expert, started exploring the field when he was a child. By the age of seven he was already training in three different methods of the arts. When he joined the Marines his skills meant that in addition to serving in one of the US military's most prestigious units he was also training officers in Krav Maga.

At the end of four years of service in the Marines, Stern flew to Japan where he trained with a Ninjutsu master and received a 5th Dan black belt.

Encounters with a Marine Corps rabbi led Stern to return to his Jewish roots and become religious. Seven Years ago he made aliyah, and after spending time in Safed he moved to the settlement of Itamar in the West Bank.

Stern teaches the children of Itamar various methods of martial arts. One of his students was Yoav Fogel who was brutally murdered in his home by terrorists 11 months ago. "Yoav was an especially smart child, relatively quiet, who knew a lot and was very social. He came to lessons for a while but left when he decided to invest more time in studying Mishna," Stern recalls.

Stern with a student in Itamar (Photo: Itamar Development Foundation)

"He had special charm that you don't see everyday. I remember the special connection he had with the other children. He had something different, something quieter, more serene, and more significant."

Stern says that ever since the brutal massacre the attitude towards martial arts in Itamar has changed.

With more children taking up martial arts, the classes are treated with more seriousness: "They feel that the horrific attack against the Fogel family obligates them to be prepared.

"I feel that the class gives them a sense of strength and security. I pray that if, heaven forbid, a child needs to use the knowledge he gains in my classes, he will be able to defend himself against terrorists.

"A child from Itamar studying martial arts is different from a child in Tel Aviv or Haifa who takes a self defense class. Here, we’ve seen that it's an existential matter. We are currently building a synagogue in Itamar in commemoration of its 20 terror victims and I hope that through my self defense classes we can avoid having victims in the future."

Stern also teaches at a center that offers haredi teenagers who feel disconnected from their environment an opportunity to connect with something. He teaches them martial arts once a week.

"When children feel disconnected, this is a way to help them feel connected. It's a way of life, a system that instills values and more than anything, it enables them to gain self respect – these are children who feel that they have failed in life.

"The most important thing is the discipline we give them. From my perspective, the most important thing is that at the end of the day, they believe in themselves."

Sukkoth In The Shimon HaTzadiq Neighborhood

Motza'ei Shabbath Qodesh Parashath Bereishith 5772

During Hol HaMo'ed Sukkoth, I went to a barbecue at a friend's place in the Shimon HaTzadiq neighborhood. The Shimon HaTzadiq neighborhood is located on the eastern side of Highway 1 in Jerusalem.

It was a lot fun, meeting old friends and new, as well as seeing the dog I helped raise, when I lived in K'far Tapu'ah (see photo below). Hot dogs, Kabob, and chicken were on the menu, along with singing and Torah in the sukkah.

During tefillath minhah, as the repetition of prayer began, Arab children came over to peak onto the property, and started making noise. Their mother came over, and joined in. Other Arabs began screaming, including very unpleasant things about God, surprisingly.

A few of us who had already prayed went out to investigate, and discovered several Norwegian Leftists inciting the Arabs against us. Esau and Yishma'el working together; Esau manipulating wild and idiotic Yishma'el, actually.

Women stood in front of the entrance to the property, knowing full well that it is forbidden for Jewish men to pray in the presence of women, especially how these women were dressed. One even trespassed on to the property, sat in back of our sukkah, texting to her heart's content, throughout the entire evening. We just ignored her, as she ended up sitting within the [supposed] property of one of the Arab neighbors.

The Norwegian Leftists' complaint was that we Jews were occupying "Palestinian" lands.

This demonstrated how truly ignorant AND Jew-hating these Europeans (Esau) are. Jewish have simply been reclaiming property which they had lost during the Israeli War of Independence.

Who is "occupying" whose land and homes???

After the fall of Sadam Hussein in Iraq, Iraqi citizens filed for reclamation of lost property, which had been confiscated or lost, due to the need to run for their lives. Doesn't anyone remember how Jews were singled out, and denied these rights? Did any Jews have Iraqi citizenship restored or property returned? For certain, they did not receive the minority status granted to other ethnic groups in Iraq. Yet, Jews have had a presence in Iraq for over 2,000 years.

Esau and Yishma'el treat us the same way here in our own homeland, while we continue to let them, and everyone else, to step all over us.

Irregardless of the light drama which played out, I had a nice time, and hope to go back sometime. The irony is that this neighborhood even has its own light rail station. As "occupations" go (eyes rolling), this one has a tremendous amount of mainstream support.

Now that I think about it, I wonder why we did not "release the hounds." Besides Shiksa, there was one other Belgian Shepherd available for Arab and Leftist chasing duty. I guess that even "right-wing fanatics" (eyes rolling) know when to choose their our shots. Go figure....

*********

Here is a video (Hebrew) of Yehonatan "Yoni" Yosef giving a guided tour through the neighborhood, lecturing on the rich history of this neighborhood. His grandfather, former Chief Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef celebrated becoming bar-mitzvah in this neighborhood, and was the ba'al qore' (Torah reader) there for several years.

The Jewish presence and history of this neighborhood begins thousands of years ago, and only had a short break from 1949 to 1967, when the armistice line was set, separating Jews from from there homes there.

The compositions of his tour groups are usually more mixed, Haredi, Religious Zionist, and and secular, all interested in the history and current activity of the Shimon HaTzadiq neighborhood.

JPost.com: The Guard Dogs Of East Jerusalem

Benjamin Spier, January 27, 2011

Meet Shiksa, one of dozens of canines sent to guard in West Bank settlements, dangerous neighborhoods.

In an east Jerusalem neighborhood where tensions between Arabs and Jews run high, sometimes a dog is needed to keep the peace.

Yaakov Fauci lives with his Belgian Shepard 'Shiksa' in one of the few Jewish houses of an almost entirely Arab neighborhood.

Israel’s Best Friend sends dogs like Shiksa to settlements in the West Bank and to Jewish homes in dangerous neighborhoods of east Jerusalem.

YNET: 13 Jewish Homes Approved In Sheikh Jarrah

Construction plans drawn up 'with sole aim of creating trouble,' says Meretz councilman, but head of Israel Land Fund argues, 'Arabs should thank Jews for letting them stay free of charge on land that belongs to them'

Ronen Medzini, February 7, 2011

Jerusalem Municipality approved 13 new housing units for Jews in Sheikh Jarrah on Monday, a move expected to further exacerbate tension in the Arab neighborhood.

The local planning and construction committee approved two separate plans for buildings to be erected near the tomb of Shimon Hatzadik.

The approval provides a recommendation for the Interior Ministry, which will decide whether to give the final green light.

Sheikh Jarrah has become a focal point of conflict between left-wing activists and Arab residents, and the dozens of Jews who reside there in 10 different houses.

(What Arabs call "Sheikh Jarrah" is actually farther north. What Arabs call "Wadi Joz" is to the east.)

The latter moved in on a court order which evicted the Arab residents from their homes. Aside from the approved 13, sources in the municipality said plans were in the works for hundreds of new homes.

"I imagine that within 5-10 years some 200 homes for Jews will be built in this area," Arieh King, the chairman of the Israel Land Fund, told Ynet.

"These are lands that belonged to Jews before the establishment of the state, and after 63 years they have been returned to the heirs. The Arabs that lived here illegally throughout these years should thank the Jews who let them stay for free, and now it's time for the Jews to actualize their rights to this place."

The municipality's Likud representative, Attorney Elisha Peleg, said anyone who rejected Jews' rights to build in east Jerusalem was engaging in discrimination.

"I hope as many Jewish neighborhoods as possible are built in east Jerusalem," he told Ynet, adding that the plans were drawn up by private companies and have nothing to do with the state.

"The lots are being built on illegally and invaded by Arabs right now and in the future, when we receive building permits, they will be asked to leave."

But Meretz Councilman Yosef (Pepe) Alalo said the new plans were destroying the status-quo. "Aside from the fact that the plans arrived insufficiently prepared, they are certainly improper and are entirely aimed at causing trouble," he said.

(Since when is returning property to its rightful owners "improper" and "aimed at causing trouble?")

"The plans were made in order to harm agreements by which Palestinian neighborhoods will be transferred to the future state of Palestine while Jewish neighborhoods remain in Israel. These plans destroy our final hope and have no regard for the fact that the families living in the homes will be thrown out onto the street."

(Well, I guess they should of thought about that, before squatting on Jewish property without permission, huh?)

Jerusalem Municipality stated in response that the plans were private and therefore the construction committee was charged only with checking the aspects related to technical planning, not the religion or nationality of the planners.

Shomron Hilltop Torched!

24 of the Thirteenth Month 5768

Elnaqam, one of the hilltops adjacent to K'far Tapu'ah Hill was torched Sunday night, and the police aim to complete the pogrom:
ElnaqamElnaqam 4: One year ago

Sunday night the Tapu'ah Response Team and volunteer fire dept woke up to a horrible fire on the Tapu'ah hilltop known as El Nakam-4. The last remaining tent that housed a Torah study-hall, dormitory and dining hall for the small unique canine yeshiva was torched at approximately 3:00 AM. Miraculously, no holy books were damaged and nobody was harmed in the fierce fire, which is believed to have been started by gas firebombs tossed lit into the tent.

Elnaqam 4: Yekutiel Ben-Ya'akov praying early Monday morning

Firefighters controlled the blaze by 4:00 AM and military trackers were unable to find conclusive signs or direction of the fleeing arsonists.

Gen. Gad ShamniThe entire hill has been slated for destruction by the IDF Central Commander Gad Shamni like most other "illegal" hills in Judea and Samaria. The police were scheduled to tear down the remaining tent at 6:00 AM and to seal the area off. The forty specially trained canines that were kept and/or trained on the hill were removed several weeks ago, after the Administrative Closure Order was leaked out early to the directors of the Canine Yeshiva program. Clearly, it was this horrible breach in security that enabled the terrorists to sneak on to the hill and carry out their attack.

Yekutiel Ben Yaakov, Director of the program said

Yekutiel Ben-Ya'akov"I wonder if Shamni will still send his troops to confiscate the ashes he has brought about of our once thriving hilltop. If it was not sad it would be comical. Our dogs and students have saved countless lives in Israel. We will continue to do so. Sm-OlmertHow many Jews will Israeli leaders continue to sacrifice to appease the international community? How far will Shamni and Olmert go to strip Jews in Israel of any basic right or tool of self defense against pogroms like the ones we are seeing here in Israel these days?"

Television Interview With Evicted Jew

11 of the Eighth Month 5768

Here is the link to the Aharon Deutch's Israel National Television interview with Yekutiel Ben-Ya'akov.

Ben-Ya'akov is a resident of K'far Tapu'ah, and one of many Jews served with "stay away" orders from their homes in Judea and Samaria.

He is the founder and head of Yeshivat Magen Ha'Aretz on a hilltop near K'far Tapu'ah, where men study Torah, as well as self-defense and dog-handing. The dogs are employed in guarding towns, search and rescue, and bomb detection, and are responsible for the saving of many lives.

The "authorities" claim that this is a preventative measure to protect the Arabs from possible harm while they are harvesting olives, often within close proximity to Jewish towns.

Jews are served with restraining orders, preventing them from going to work, and if their families come with them, it makes it almost impossible for their children to attend their schools of residents, their wives to travel to their workplaces, and for them to protect their homes from Arab infiltration.

Of course, the thought of serving restraining orders to Arabs when their is a clear and present danger to Jews seems to be out of the question, and evn thought of it can cause a Jew to be investigated for "incitement of racism."

Welcome to Israel.

Jewish Legion Zucchini Salad (story & recipe)

Mossa'ei Shabbat Qodesh Parshath Re'eh 5766

INTRODUCTION:

Two years ago, upon moving up in the world, north that is, from the town of Ofra in Binyamin (See Judges 6:11) to K'far Tapu'ah around the border between Efraim and Menashe (See Joshua 17:7-8), I was invited to eat Shabbath dinner with HaGedud HaIvri (the Jewish Legion). The Torah-based Jewish Legion, a resurection in spirit of its name-sake founded, through the efforts of Ze'ev Jabotinsky and Yosef Trumpeldor in August, 1918, was a group of Jewish volunteers who trained in self-defense, dog-handling, emergency medical response, and other security operations. Members came from Israel and from outside of Israel; some were "frum from birth," others only learning about their heritage. It was one of the only organizations or programs in Israel which was truly made up of a diverse group of Jews, building the kind of Jewish unity so-called pluralists only "talk" about.

Anyway, I was invited to join them for dinner. I could not arrive empty handed, could I?

I prepared the recipe below, and brought it over. Introductions were made. I had remembered several of the members from when I first visited K'far Tapu'ah, two years previously. Still, my eyes were fixed on my salad as it was passed around the table, making a mental note of who took, and who did not. I wanted to make a good, first impression. WHEW! Most of them took, AND finished what they took.

One of the members of the Gedud HaIvri, who liked this salad, asked if he could "claim" it, and put the Legion's name on it.

I said, "Sure. Why not?"

Thus was born the "Jewish Legion Zucchini Salad" (pictured below).

He soon left to go get some sleep. He had to take up his post at 2:00am. Even though exempt from service in the IDF, this Jew decided to give three years of his life in the service of his People and and his Land. So, for three years, seven days a week, from 2:00am to 8:00a, he was the only person standing between the western boundary of K'far Tapu'ah, Giv'ath Tapu'ah HaMa'aravith (Tapu'ah West Hill) and the Yishma'elite (Arab) village of Salfit, in so-called "Area A."

Another member, the Number 2 man in the Legion, later went out to his guarding post, overlooking the neighboring Yishma'elite village, Yassuf. He took up his position, armed only with a cellular phone and a plastic fork, having been unceremoniously denied his right to bear arms by the powers that be. That did not deter him from his mission. Somebody had to do it. His plastic fork, by the way was more of a symbolic protest weapon, than a functional one. Although, he did seem to be pretty resourceful.

Well, none of the dedication of these Jews seemed to matter to the IDF local command nor to the Israeli police, when on 8 Teveth 5766 (Jan. 8, 2006) they raided K'far Tapu'ah, confiscating everything from the dining room table and chairs to their specially trained, pedigreed Mallinois (Belgian Shepherd) guard dogs.

These are the same dogs which guarded towns throughout Yehudah, Shomron, & Azza (Judea, Samaria, & Gaza), deterring Yishma'elite infiltrations. These are the same dogs which (with their handlers) assisted the IDF in searching vehicles for bombs and bomb-making materials. These are the same dogs and handlers who spent their Saturday nights guarding hitchhiking locations during the recent kidnapping scare.

INGREDIENTS:

Qishu'im
(You know... that light green squash in Israel that's not really zucchini, but we sometimes call it that in Italian/English for lack of a better name.)

Garlic

(Fresh, not powered, for goodness sakes! - Gevaldt!)

Soy Sauce
(No, you don't have to make this from scratch. Although everyone knows that if you really loved your family, you'd make it from scratch! -- Just kidding. The only soy sauce requirement is that you are not allowed to use those thick Israeli versions of soy sauce! Telma used to have the best and cheapest, proper soy sauce, with an Eidah Haredis heksher, but it seems to have disappeared. Surprisingly you can find some American and Asian-made soy sauces in Shuq Mahaneh Yehudah, at reasonable prices. But, it depends on your preference in heksherim.)

Canola Oil
(Self-explanatory,...Um,...I hope.)

PREPARATION:

1. Wash, and leave un-skinned, 10 or so medium-sized qishu'im. Slice into circles about 4 mm wide (about 1/5 in.).

2. Whether deep-frying or frying in a regular frying pan, make sure to pre-heat the oil. Otherwise, the result will be a soggy mess.

3. Fry until the last piece of qishu'im begins to brown.

4. Remove, and allow oil to drip, or place on ripped-open, brown paper bag or paper towels to allow the excess oil to be soaked up. Repeat with with subsequently batches.

5. After all of the qishu'im have been prepared in the above manner, place four or five cloves of garlic, finely chopped, into the frying pan, with only a little oil, if not the oil which was dripped off from the deep-fryer, and reheat briefly.

6. Once the garlic begins to fry, add the qishu'im, and turn off the fire.

7. Immediately add the soy sauce, about three tablespoons. Additional soy sauce can always be added later according to taste.

8. With a spatula, gently flip over portions of qishu'im, allowing the soy sauce and garlic to mix in, without breaking up the shape of the qishu'im.

9. Allow to cool. Refrigerate. May be served cold, at room temperature, or be reheated for an additional side dish.

EPILOGUE:

On that fateful day in Teveth (January) of this year, I, myself, happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. All of my personal belongings were searched, and personal letters read. I was then taken in, "detained for questioning." I spent a few hours at the police departments "lovely" facility in the Russian Compound, Jerusalem.

During my "questioning," I was asked what my connection was to the Gedud HaIvri. I told the detective about once in a while making a salad to bring over to them for Shabbath dinner. That seemed to catch even him, a seasoned interrogator, off guard for a split second. I believe that that I was released, as he was certain that I could not possibly have made up such a thing.

It's just like the Erev Rav (decendants of the"mixed multitude") police not to concern itself with the power of misswoth (Toraah commandments) like Shabbath and Hakhnasath Orhim (welcoming and providing for guests).

Dogs, Vomit, & Netanyahu

18 of the Ninth Month 5766

Likud Party

Aryeh Zelasko eloquently wrote in response to the following A7 piece:

"Actually this is more in the realm of a dog returning to his vomit but each to his own analogies. I wonder what high level jobs these two will be getting in the near future?"

Feiglin Responds to Yesha Endorsement of Netanyahu
Sunday, December 18, 2005 / 17 Kislev 5766

Likud Manhigut Yehudit Jewish Leadership faction head Moshe Feiglin compared the Yesha Council endorsement of Binyamin Netanyahu to a "battered woman returning to her abusive husband."

Feiglin stated that the decision by veteran Yesha leaders Bentzi Lieberman and Pinchas Wallerstein to back Netanyahu is testimony to their achievements in their battle to preserve the communities in Gaza and northern Samaria. Feiglin added that Netanyahu is well-aware that he will be able to carry out the next expulsion, resting assured he will have the backing of the settlement council.

My comments:

What a minute! Wasn't it the YeSh"A Council who brought down Netanyahu back in 1998?

Specificly, I recall that "residents of Ofra" had been involved, and maybe even took a little pride in it.

Included in the list of prominent residents of Ofra, Wallerstein, Uri Elitzur (He's OK, as far as I know), Hayim Falk (the not at all famous #9 on the Mafda"L list), Rav Avi "Don't Pick Arab olives [even though Rav Eliyahu says it's OK, and other rabbanim say there's no such thing as Arab olives]" Gisser (member of the infamous Dovrat Education Comm.). Less prominent residents of Ofra include the Lt. Ravsha"tz Gabbi Biton who turned into the police three teen-aged girls for allegedly letting the air out of the tires of an Arab car or two. He then took time out of his day to go to the police stn. to fill out forms and provide testimony. If he HAD to do something, why not just call their parents? And where were these cars? The mini Arab (white and green tag) workers parking lot just outside the entrance to the yishuv, and next his wife's restaurant. (Many Arabs enter the yishuv every morning to work.) His wife openly does business with these animals, and even rides around with them in their cars.

Well, that's Ofra, for you. And from my experience, Ofra is not alone in its mamlachti ideas. It has many other yishuvim in its camp of misguided idiocy and self-destruction.

But, I digress... With so-called "religious, Zionist" Jews like these, the Arabs and leftists do not even have to break a sweat to do their evil!

Anyway does this ring all ring a bell? This sure supports the above statement about returning to ones vomit.

Regarding "high-level" jobs, what DID ever happen to Mor-Yosef, also from Ofra? You know the former PeSh"A Council member who removed his beard because he didn't want to look like a "fanati." Did he ever get that job with the Foreign Ministry in exchange for securing that Ofra will never be dismantled? Guess again Mr. Mor-Yosef.

Well, at least the good news is that as usual the YeSh"A Rabbanate has its priorities arranged more appropriately than the PeSh"A Council, placing Torah before all else, including avodah zarah, fascism, and idiocy.

I would hope that we can expect nothing less from our rabbis.

Well, I guess I'd better go out and do my duty as a registered member of the Likud, and vote.

Gee....Whose advice should I follow? The advice of Amei HaAretz or some of the decreasing number of decent Rabbanim in this country?

See its point of view below.

Yesha Rabbinic Council Calls on Likud Voters to Choose Feiglin
22:33 Dec 18, '05 / 17 Kislev 5766

Although the Yesha Council has called on the public to vote for Binyamin Netanyahu, the head of the Rabbinic Council of Yesha (Judea, Samaria and Gaza) has issued an endorsement for Moshe Feiglin.

This is not the first time that Yesha' rabbinic leadership has come out on the opposite side of an issue from the government salaried lay-leaders.

Rabbi Dov Lior, who heads the council, called Sunday night for Likud voters to choose the candidate, "who is faithful to the values of the Nation of Israel and who will strengthen the Jewish identity of the State, who fought the whole way against the cursed Oslo process and against the destruction of Gush Katif and northern Samaria and in the end truth will overcome."
