@borkdude I started using direnv... since I had to rotate all of my Github tokens (due to the recent CircleCI security issue) and now only use tokens scoped to one or few repos and a system-wide environment variable doesn't cut it anymore.

@DaVeTwEeTlive GitHub now allows developers to scan their code for the “default setup” repo, hopefully helping them to spot any security issues before they escalate. With this new feature, Github says devs will be able to configure the repo automatically, & with as little effort as possible.

@nogD3V I organized everything on google drive, when I need to do some exercise, project or something else, I'll create a new local folder just for it and then, at the final, upload on google drive, just to avoid future problems uploding to GITHUB

@StanBright It seems like @github is not indexing repo forks. We have this issue where "paperclip" gem is out of maintenance, and it's support has moved to a fork - "kt-paperclip". Unfortunately, you can't search in the new gem's code ?

@sealan GitHub Copilot is fantastic for working with ancient PHP code bases. Cuts down both comprehension and refactoring time significantly. Seems to figure out what I'm getting at quickly, which is a dream! ? #webdevelopment

@onetom @borkdude it's not a bad idea though, to clone the source of most of the deps u use, so it's available in case of a GitHub or internet outage too. my current set of clones is 2.5GB (0.4GB mdn/content). it was around 11GB when i was working on Ethereum-related projects.

@akoskm @housecor The problem with this approach is that every time an engineer sets up a new laptop, usually, the IDE feedback doesn't work out of the box. They end up pushing code that fails in CI, wasting resources. This also means a lot for startups with limited GitHub Action minutes.

That's why they don't provide APKs on their website or github repo too.. So that non google play services users don't use their app.

I have setup a few proxy servers using WhatsApp/proxy from github but none of them working in Iran while no issue when you connect from US, Canada, or Australia. @BattleAxeVR For closed-source projects like mine, submodule dependencies can be risky. If a github repo goes down, you're screwed. Ran into this issue when DecaGear's DecaMove SDK went offline. Glad I had a local /lib backup. I also tend to obsessively update submodules which wastes time.

As far as I know only a handful of big corporations require you to sign an electronic agreement to send pull requests to their projects.

@CooLey_F @samoye95 It’s really good once it’s working correctly. Only down part is there aren’t any built in deployment task for it yet for azure devops automation so we are building our own currently. If you using GitHub actions you won’t have this issue as it’s available for them now.
