Welcome to my home! Well, to be more accurate, this is actually the home I just moved from earlier this year. I’ve been posting a lot about the evolution of our new home in the past few months, and will update this house tour section to include both homes shortly. For now, this tour will show you the house we lived in for 20 years, up until this past May…

I’ve been wanting to get a reasonably complete tour of my home posted for a while now, and it seems like now is the perfect time. We’re about to move to a new house and once we are settled, the next few months should be filled with all kinds of renovation and decorating projects, hopefully leading to a brand new house tour post later in the year. My overall aesthetic will not be changing much, as it’s pretty well defined after all these years, but many components will be new, both large and small. If I had to nail down a description of my style, I think I’d call it European inspired traditional, focused very much on refined patina. I strive for casual elegance and lean very much toward French country, borrowing from English manor, as well. No doubt Europeans would find it decidedly American, but the influences to me are undeniable. I would love to hear from you, in comments or email, to know if you would define my style the same way as I think of it. I welcome questions and would be happy to share source information. Sit back and enjoy the Designthusiasm Casual Elegance House Tour!
