Microsoft Dynamics Community blog articles provide comprehensive support and how-to help for users and highlight the expertise of community members. Blog articles are an effective way to help answer questions, give tips, and provide advice.

If you already have a blog: You may request your existing blog to be syndicated in the Microsoft Dynamics Community. Please read the content guidelines and syndicated blog guidelines below, and then fill out the request form below.

If you want to create a new blog: You can request a new blog to be created in the Microsoft Dynamics Community. Please read the content guidelines below and skip to fill out the request form below.

Content guidelines

Content must be written for end users, IT professionals, or developers of a Microsoft Dynamics product. If you have content that you think is best suited for prospective customers or other user types, please contact the Microsoft Dynamics Community Administration Team.

Content must be specific to one Microsoft Dynamics product, for inclusion in that product community. Content may be either non-technical or technical content.

The tone of the content must be professional, business-oriented and focused on Microsoft Dynamics product-related topics, as opposed to issues of personal or non-business nature.

Content must follow the Microsoft Dynamics Community Code of Conduct or Terms of Use.

Syndicated blog guidelines

Content must be provided via an RSS 2.0 feed. If you don't know what format your RSS feed is in or you don't have an RSS 2.0 feed available, let us know and we can help.

The RSS feed must have full syndication (exposing the entire content of each article) -- truncated feeds are not allowed.

Content from syndicated feeds will be attributed to a single author. If your blog has multiple authors, consider creating a Community profile for your team that all blog articles will be attributed to.

If you have content applicable to multiple Microsoft Dynamics products, create separate RSS feeds for each product, to be included in each product community.

Place a referring link on your blog web site, linking back to the appropriate product community home page on the Microsoft Dynamics Community site.

Content will not be syndicated without consent of original author.

The Microsoft Dynamics Community reserves the right to not syndicate or to remove, without prior notice, individual blog posts and/or entire syndicated blogs, if content is deemed irrelevant/inappropriate to the Microsoft Dynamics Community.

Request form

Community Moderators give their time, energy, and mindshare to participating in the Microsoft Dynamics Community. They help the community by occasionally moving questions to the correct forum, managing abusive threads and SPAM, and marking verified answers. They are also independent voices who provide different perspectives and different kinds of solutions. That is an important part of any community because it balances the type and point of view of the answers and replies in the forum.

What actions do community moderators perform?

For volunteering, Community Moderators have access to additional site tools not available to other users and are encouraged to use these tools to help monitor and maintain the quality of the content in the community. Community Moderators move forum threads to the appropriate forum, manage abusive threads and spam, and mark suggested answers as verified. Community Moderators also get advance notice of launching on the Microsoft Dynamics Community and, when possible, are invited to preview these site features before they launch to the general public.

Furthermore, other members of the community recognize Community Moderators as experts who have been promoted in recognition of their passion for a Microsoft product or service.

No, A Community Moderator is a volunteer position.

How to become a community moderator

To be eligible to become a Community Moderator you must spend considerable time in the community answering questions, participating in discussions, and be diplomatic throughout. You must have at least 100 posts and have been a member of the site for at least 3 months. Alternately, if you show that you are a caring contributor you may also be approached by the Forum Owners to become a Community Moderator.

Requests are not automatically approved -- your profile and posts will be analyzed and prioritized based on your level of participation. Microsoft reserves the right to remove and replace community moderators at any time.

Do community moderators get paid?

Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Marketing, and Social Listening forums
7 moderator positions available. [[mailto:dlcommed@microsoft.com?subject=CRM%20Moderator%20Request|Email us to apply]]

Community experts are members of either the Microsoft Community Contributor (MCC) program or the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) program. These members are very active in the community: answering forum questions, writing detailed blog articles, and tweeting useful information.

These members are featured prominently via a Experts widget on the product community home pages -- following them allows you to easily see all their activity. They are also awarded specific MCC and MVP badges, allowing you to easily identify them throughout the site.

Microsoft Community Contributors (MCCs)

The Microsoft Community Contributor program rewards top contributors in the Microsoft Dynamics Community forums. Every six months (Jan-June and July-Dec) the MCC badge is awarded to the top 5 members with the most verified answers within each product forum. These members have spent significant time providing helpful answers to other members' questions and can be identified with the following badge on their forum posts.

How to find how close you are to earning the MCC badge

Visit any of the following MCC badges and you'll see a status widget that displays where you are at vs. the current top 5 members with the most verified answers in that community's forums. If you're a member of multiple communities, you'll have a dropdown to view each community status separately.

View MCC badge awardees on the Badges page.

Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs)

MVPs are passionate about Microsoft technology and recognized for their exceptional technical expertise, their willingness to help others make the most of their technology, and for making a significant and positive impact on technical communities.

View MVPs on the Badges page.

If you're already an MVP and don't see yourself listed on the above pages, contact us for assistance.

This information is designed to help you increase your chances of receiving timely and effective answers. If you design your question effectively, you can get good information from people who are knowledgeable about the topic and who are happy to help you.

Search the community

Before posting a new question, search the community. There's a good chance that someone has already asked a forum question, written a blog article, or published a how-to video on the topic you're interested in. In the search box in the upper-right of the side, type your question, keyword, or topic.

Checklist for writing a question

Subject Line: Type a concise, brief description of your problem or question. For example: "Create an Audit Report in CRM" or “Removing reporting currency in AX 2012 R2." A subject line that says only "I need help" will not catch the attention of someone who may be familiar with your particular situation.

Keep subject lines between five and 10 words. This allows for community members to quickly skim through the forum to find answers or offer assistance.

Description of the post: Describe the problem or question. Getting a resolution to your issue relies heavily on detailing what you need assistance with. CLEARLY layout what you need help with and provide enough detail so members don’t have to ask you to elaborate on your question.

In the description of the post feel free to add images/screenshots and you can edit your post similarly to a Word document with bold, underlined, italicized text, embedded links, and bullet points

Be sure to select the correct product version and category filters. For example, if you are on CRM Online and have a question about reporting, select version “CRM Online” and category “Reporting and BI”. Reference below screenshot.

Tags allow information from around the community to be aggregated together. They are labels that can be added to forum posts to tie pieces of content together to make relevant information easier to find. Adding tags to your post is not required but if you decide to add tags make sure to separate each one with a comma (,).

Before you publish, make sure your post is specific, clear, and complete.

New Post Screenshot Example:

Things to avoid when posting a new question

Do not post new, unrelated questions in an old thread or a thread you previously created. Please start a new thread for each new question.

Typing in ALL CAPS is considered "shouting," and seems rude.

Do not include words/phrases like: “Please Help”, “Urgent”, “I have a problem”. It goes without saying that everyone posting a new question is seeking some form of assistance so instead, focus on the content of your post.

Do not put tags as "[AX 2012]" to the title. Use "Filters" and "Tags" for such additional information.

Do not post your email address or ask others to post their email in the forums. Instead, send a friend request or a private message to members that you would like to connect with.

Do not engage users who are trolling and instead report it. You can contact a site Moderator or contact the [[mailto:dlcommed@microsoft.com|Microsoft Dynamics Community Administration Team]].
