C’H’C’M’ Autumn/Winter Lookbook

. . . . . .
VERY excited to share a series of new work.
I photographed the C’H’C’M’ Autumn/Winter Lookbook and you can see the full series on my portfolio now.
I worked on this project with Sweetu Patel, a friend and the founder/creative brain behind the label. It’s the first “lookbook” that he’s done in the 5 years since he’s had the C’H’C’M’ shop, so I’m super proud of the work we created.
I hope you’ll take a look at the full series here:

New Work – Philistine Magazine

. . . . .
Above, some photos of this incredible NYC Art Deco apartment in Chelsea that I photographed for the new issue of Philistine Magazine. The apartment owner is a very interesting & quite successful antiques dealer, and he had great stories about the parties he’s hosted there and the history of many of the objects he’s collected.
You can see the full series from this shoot on my portfolio here: http://www.brianwferry.com/art-deco-apartment-philistine
And speaking of my portfolio – I’ve updated the site with a bunch of new work. Check out new/recent projects here:

Vermont, October

. . . . . . .
Photos taken during an October weekend in Vermont with good friends.
Donald Judd’s 101 Spring St. Home & Studio

. . . . .
Last week, the Judd Foundation invited a group of photographers, designers & architects to visit Donald Judd’s 101 Spring Street home & studio for a special tour. I had toured 101 Spring Street after it opened in the summer of 2014, but there is usually a very strict ‘no photography’ policy (which was minor torture for me at the time).
But during last week’s special tour, I could photograph anything and everything inside Judd’s epic New York City space.
!!!!
Above, some film snaps from my visit. Again, I was struck by the ways in which Judd’s work & his domestic life each influenced the other.
Learn more about 101 Spring Street and Judd’s work HERE.
(Huge thanks to Elizabeth Abrahamson & the Judd Foundation for the invitation)
Woodstock – Late Summer

. . . . . . . .
A roll of black & white film that I had forgotten about and recently had developed … half of it from a heat wave at the end of the summer in upstate NY, and the other half during a freak October cold spell in VT. I’ll post those photos next.
I also forgot to share a new Spotify playlist of tunes that I made in October — better late than never, I guess.

Kai Avent-deLeon for Apiece Apart

. . . . . . .
I photographed the lovely Kai Avent-deLeon for Apiece Apart a few months ago, and the feature is live today on their website.
See it here: https://www.apieceapart.com/kai-avent-deleon
Kai is the talented woman behind Sincerely, Tommy in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn and I’m so glad I could meet and photograph her.

Kazu Makino for Apiece Apart

. . . . . . .
A total dream assignment last week: I had the opportunity to photograph Kazu Makino at home for women’s fashion label Apiece Apart. Kazu is the frontwoman of the band Blonde Redhead (a favorite of mine) and an incredible talent. So I was psyched to hang out with her at home and make these portraits. It was such a great shoot – thanks to Kazu for welcoming us and making the afternoon so enjoyable.
See the full feature and read the interview with Kazu on Apiece Apart’s website here: https://www.apieceapart.com/kazu-makino
Also, watch the incredibly inspiring black & white video for the SS16 collection, starring Kazu, on Vogue.com here: http://www.vogue.com/fashion-shows/spring-2016-ready-to-wear/apiece-apart#video
Thanks to Alexa Hotz for the styling and to Leigh Patterson for production.
