What is a Seder?
The Seder is a ceremonial feast that marks the beginning of the Jewish festival of Passover. At its core, it is a time-honored tradition of storytelling, bringing together friends and family to retell the tale of the Israelites' liberation from slavery in ancient Egypt. The word "Seder" itself means "order," symbolizing the structured sequence of rituals and shared narratives that make this experience so poignant.
Our Unique Unity Seder: Embracing Shared Stories
The themes of Passover resonate with the human experience of overcoming adversity, seeking liberation, and fostering unity. The Seder offers a powerful platform to reflect on our collective journeys and the pursuit of freedom as a universal aspiration that unites us all.
We invite you to join us for a special Atlanta Unity Seder where we will explore our parallel narratives of exodus. Our goal is to create a welcoming space where individuals from diverse backgrounds can share their own stories of overcoming challenges, forging alliances, and embodying the spirit of freedom.
“When you think of Atlanta, you think of historic collaborations between communities. The Unity Seder is that way of intentionally building community; it captures the soul of our city.”
– Sofia Bork, Community Affairs Manager, Truist
“The people, purpose, and perspectives give the Unity Seder its power! In a world full of moments to divide us, it is amazing to experience a Passover Seder that showcases the commonalities in our stories."
– DeMark Liggins, President/CEO, Southern Christian Leadership Conference
