I am supporting our excellent @DanielJHannan in tomorrow’s #EUElections - no way can we allow the Brexit Party give Corbyn’s Labour any advantage. pic.twitter.com/omRMpxz0gK

We need Brexit to happen in an amicable and swift way. It will be the first test of the new Conservative leader. pic.twitter.com/P4eDMZxeNU

Best of luck to @DanielJHannan - a true Conservative and a true Brexiteer. The party did not want these elections and Daniel did not want to contest them, but we do still need quality representation while parliament gets its act together.

Despite the current impasse over Brexit the only viable option on Thursday is to vote Conservative. Even more obvious in the south-east where we have the excellent @DanielJHannan topping the list who has worked tirelessly to deliver Brexit and for the interests of my constituents

For the sake of administering a kicking to a PM who is already leaving, we risk a Corbyn government. It will drop Brexit - though, frankly, that may be the least of our problems by then. pic.twitter.com/0wNjscFIZO

People are telling me how stupid/thick/cretinous I am for encouraging those in SE Region to vote @Conservatives, because @DanielJHannan is in the top slot and in danger of losing. Let me assure you (for those who don't grasp D'Hondt) that Dan is worth 10,000 of #BrexitParty's #2. pic.twitter.com/QJdU8H9J7a

That’s the paradox, David. For the sake of administering a kicking to a leader who is already on the way out, we risk giving Corbyn almost unstoppable momentum. He would drop Brexit but, frankly, that might be the least of our problems by then!

We had no Euro manifesto, Andrew. We never wanted the election to take place. But, in reality, there is no point in wasting time discussing an agreement that has zero chance of passing the Commons.

Their problem - and mine - is with the Irish backstop. They accepted all the other nasties: the asymmetric arbitration mechanism, the two years of non-voting membership, the £39 billion which no international tribunal would uphold etc.

There is a parallel universe where we went for an EFTA deal three years ago, left the EU, and avoided a monstrous culture war. Maybe, with different leadership, something along those lines could still be achieved.

I have opposed the proposed withdrawal agreement throughout. It plainly has no chance of passing. The issue is who takes over after that - the next Tory leader, or Jeremy Corbyn?

Another thing Twitter has taught me: how closely most people’s definition of “corrupt” overlaps with their definition of “holds views with which I disagree”.
