Get Involved Professionally
Get involved with JYDA, the Jewish Youth Director Association. A professional development group for Conservative Jewish youth directors and advisors, JYDA provides conventions, workshops, and connects you to a larger network of Jewish educators.
Apply for a Chapter Grant
You, on behalf of your chapter, can apply for an Engagement and Innovation Grant, which:
- Supports groundbreaking programming and innovation
- Helps boost your ability to reach and engage more teens on the chapter level
- Enables ongoing initiatives, one time programs, or USY/Kadima staff support
Priority will be given to initiatives that have the highest expected engagement impact and chapters that can supplement financial costs.
In order to apply, your chapter must:
- Be part of USCJ-affiliated kehilla
- Be in good standing (meaning you have paid USY/Kadima membership dues the previous year, or are a new chapter)
To apply:
- Applications for grants of up to $3,000 (to be used for the 18-19 program year) must be received by July 2, 2018. We will notify you of your status by August 1, 2018
- All applications must include a detailed budget
If your chapter is awarded a grant:
- Awards for programs and initiatives will be given as reimbursements or direct invoice payments. Awards for staff support will be paid out over two payments during the year
- The grant monies must be used by June 30, 2019
- Recipients are required to provide a report and evaluation before final reimbursement

Membership
We are a membership based organization, where membership begins on the chapter level.
Chapters are responsible for:
- Collecting membership information
- Funds for teens to attend chapter/local events (when applicable)
As a youth professional, you are responsible for entering this information, along with dues payments to the region and International USY/Kadima, into the online International USY/Kadima Membership System.
In order for teens to participate in regional and International programming you must submit the appropriate information and payment to International USY/Kadima.
Failure to do so may hinder your member’s eligibility to:
- Attend events
- Receive scholarship from regional and International USY
- Hold a regional or international leadership position
- Vote in any regional or international election
