Marshall has unveiled a multifunctional 42m megayacht explorer concept for Mondomarine , with a new approach to her exterior layout. M42 Atlas, takes the concept of a larger exterior aft deck space found on several of Marshall’s previous projects and introduces it to the Mondomarine portfolio. With a gross tonnage just below the 500GT threshold, optimizing space was a priority for the studio. The yacht has five staterooms, including an on-deck master cabin and the option of combining two lower deck cabins to create a second VIP, along with the possibility for a shared ownership arrangement. Sanlorenzo Launched 30 Megayachts in 2016: The recent launch of the 34m SD112, built for a Belgian client, marked the 30th megayacht to be launched by Sanlorenzo in 2016.  The vessel is the 11th hull in the tri-deck, semi-displacement megayacht series and features naval architecture by the shipyard’s in-house team and exterior styling by Francesco Paszkowski. Christened I, she has an estimated top speed of 15 knots. I has accommodation for up to 10 guests split across five cabins that include an owner’s suite, two double cabins and two twin rooms. Ingemansson Teams with Pendennis for Arctic Sun Megayacht Concept: Designer Dennis Ingemansson has revealed his latest design, the 50m Arctic Sun megayacht, to be built in conjunction with British yard Pendennis. Arctic Sun will have a steel hull and aluminum superstructure with a total interior volume of 750GT. Ingemansson noted that exterior styling is inspired by the automotive industry. With a beam of 9.5 meters, Arctic Sun accommodates 10 guests across five cabins, while crew quarter allow for a staff of up to seven. Despite the concept’s name, this explorer yacht is equally suited for tropical destinations as well as icy climates. Couach Launches 4400 Fast Fly Megayacht: French shipyard Chantier Naval Couach, also known as Coach Yachts, has launched its latest megayacht from its Arcachon facility. The 4400 Fast Fly, under construction since 2014, will bring the Couach fleet to 22 vessels upon her completion in 2017. The 4400 Fast Fly is a combination of the 49.5m Megayacht La Pellegrina and the 40.3m Megayacht Belongers. Her owner has take full advantage of the semi-custom capabilities of the shipyard, paying particular attention to the interior details of the yacht. Fifth Nauta Air 108 Megayacht Explorer Joining CdM Fleet: Based on a visit to the Cannes Yachting Festival, a buyer from Northern Europe has signed to buy an expedition Nauta Air 108 megayacht from Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) Vasco Buonpensiere, CdM sales and marketing director, noted that the owner was impressed with the yard’s presentation of sistership Narvalo at the 2016 Cannes Yachting Festival. The owner, whom CdM said has an “incredible eye for design,” enjoys long-range cruising and spending abundant time aboard ship. CdM has a reputation for building sturdy superyachts, with several customers putting tens of thousands of miles under their yachts’ hulls. CdM has not yet revealed how the owner of the new Nauta Air 108 will arrange the yacht, which has a 24’7” beam.  If she is similar to Narvalo, the new superyacht will accommodate eight guests and six crew members below decks, with the master suite sitting forward on the main deck. Higher Average Sales Propel December 2016 Yacht Market: Gains in four of six size ranges propelled higher dollar values in December boat sales. An increase of three boats in sales of yachts over 80 feet brought the biggest increase at $14 million, although the average price paid in this range declined from $5.7 to $5.4 million. More significant, however, were sales in the 36- to 45-foot category, where total value rose 12%. Aggregate price pad for the 443 boats sold was $68.1 million, up from $60.7 million in December 2015. A smaller $2.3 million gain occurred among boats 46 to 55 feet. All boats 45 feet and shorter had higher average prices, despite generally lower sales. The under-26-foot range, saw average prices increased 10 % to $28,360. In the 26- to 35-foot range, average price jumped 9% to $69,453. Sales volume for the entire year dropped 3% from 30,223 to 29,431 boats sold. Aggregate price paid increased 1%, from $3.7 billion to $3.73 billion, over 2015. Start Searching For ...

Adler MegaYachts Breaking Into Market with Commercial Craft Technology: Adler Yachts believes it can succeed in the yachting market by brining in technology usually reserved for superyachts to entry-level megayachts. The technology it’s is using on its first offering, the semi-custom Alder Suprema, is normally reserved for large commercial craft. As a flybridge yacht measuring 76 feet, the Adler Suprema is different from other yachts in her LOA in two key ways. She is made entirely of carbon fiber, Kevlar and fiberglass, whereas most are made entirely of fiberglass. Adler sought a hybrid propulsion system for quiet operations and increased efficiency, working with three German and Austrian firms for the solution. The system spent four years in development and two years in testing. It combines two 1,150 hp Caterpillars and two 100-kW electric engines.
