I’m not a huge Halloween decorator, but starting in October I love adding touches of Fall to my home.  I don’t go overboard, but I do love bringing in leaves and pumpkins and fall colors and patterns.  I haven’t shared many photos of my Seattle living room here on the blog, so I thought it would be a fun time to show you a peek!

Those big windows really make this home feel light and bright even on the grayest Seattle day.  Plus, the fall colors from my view are just getting better and better…such a show going on right now!

I added some velvet pillows and a few throw blankets to the room to add additional pattern and warm texture for the season.

I always love to have something living on my coffee table as a little focal point in the room…leaves clipped from the maple tree in my front yard are adding a stunning little yellow moment to the room right now.

I spray painted a ceramic apple gold last week and I love the way it looks sitting happily on the coffee table.

This bookcase, though gorgeous, is always a difficult piece for me to style.  Those super big square shelves make it tricky to fill.  But, I added some fall-inspired artwork  I’ve created and books in colors that suited my living room for the season mixed in with some of pottery I’ve collected from Mexico.  This piece is constantly changing.

I love gathering leaves during my walks around the neighborhood and I often like to frame them for simple, inexpensive art around the house.   My fall mantel is just a simple collection of candlesticks and pumpkins.  Those black tapers were a fun find last year and they looked perfectly spooky for Halloween, but still elegant enough for the entire fall season.

This little bar cart, a term which I use very loosely since we don’t drink, houses a candle which is burning almost constantly these days and little bits of nature my kids bring home on our walks…that little gold dish is full of pinecones.

This is a little peek at our front entry.  The lighting makes it incredibly difficult to photograph, but I hung a strand of gold pinecones by the front door, and brought out a boot tray for our rain boots which get daily wear around here.  I also brought in all my plants in for the season and this trio i so happy sitting in that bright window.
